Hello, my name is Charly. I am an experienced, caring, and reliable Nanny. When caring for children, I like to form a close bond with them and their families, whether caring for them short term or longer term. I take a gentle, nurturing approach - supporting positive attachments with the children in my care through gentle, responsive care for infants, and a playful approach with older children, whilst holding firm, positive boundaries.
I'm happy to organise age appropriate activities, cook, and do light housework - I'm a confident cook and love getting stuck in. I enjoy getting to know each child, and finding activities that complement their interests. I also love helping children to enjoy spending time outdoors and engage with nature!
My Experience
I have over 7 years professional experience of caring for children, both individuals and sibling groups from birth to 12 years, including recent twin experience. I am experienced in Newborn care, and caring for children with allergies and eczema.
Most recently, I have held a temporary position, working for a family with 3 children, aged 5, 4, and 6 months old. Additionally, I am working in a part time, long term role, caring for two children aged 6 and 3 (aged 2 and newborn at the start of the role). Additionally, I have recently experience in a Montessori setting.
I have experience in educational settings, in addition to in the home, both in Mainstream settings and Steiner/Waldorf settings. In my approach, I enjoy getting children of all ages involved in age appropriate learning through play, including early maths, phonics and reading skills, in addition to supporting them to care for themselves and their environment.
In addition to childcare, I also work as a private music teacher. I am happy to discuss the details of my experience in greater details with individuals.
My Qualifications
I currently hold:
Clear, enhanced DBS check
Paediatric First Aid
Certificate in Introduction to Safeguarding Children
Certificate in Child Positive Discipline (awarded by Attachment Parenting UK)
Montessori in the Home certificate (awarded by the Prepared Montessorian)
I also hold a First Class Honours degree in Music, from Newcastle University.
My Availability
Currently, I am seeking a part time role, either a temporary role during the summer holidays, and/or a longer term role, continuing into the autumn.
During the summer, I have availability across a range of dates - generally on the days indicated below. I am happy to take on ad-hoc work, and to discuss exact availability with individual families.
I am also open longer term roles - either to start in the summer or September - though my availability in September will likely be different to that indicated below. Unfortunately I am not currently available for before/after school roles.
My Fees
- Nannying from £20.00 per hour (gross)
I am looking for £20 per hour for nanny work. I am registered self-employed and I am happy to take on any ad-hoc work in a self-employed capacity. I am happy to discuss fees with individual families.

My kids love Charly! She’s kind, warm and funny. She has a knack of getting the kids to warm to her almost immediately (which in my opinion is her superpower!) they’re always asking after her and have wonderful and interesting days out with her.
Favourite activity so far has included going to the beach, making cupcakes and using Charly as a slide! (She seemed to enjoy this just as much as them!)

It's been our pleasure to have Charly taking care of our son and see him grow from a baby into
a little boy. She has always been dedicated, responsible and caring. She would bring him (and create with him) new innovative toys that have advanced his sensory skills. We've always felt confident that he is in good hands.
Clearly, she takes her work with babies and children as a real vocation. She has become a part of the family. I'd highly recommend her as a nanny and a babysitter!

Faith that your child is in good hands- nothing else gives a parent more peace. This is the feeling i have had everytime i have charly take care of my 4 month babygirl. She is not only gentle in her care but is punctual, and is well aware of how to adapt to every need of the child. Its been a blessing having her take care of my baby girl… i can go to work and know that i got nothing to worry about. Thank you charly for everything!
