Jenny has been looking after my son since he was 11 months old (he is now 2). We started off doing 3 days per week with Jenny but quickly increased to 4. Throughout that time they have built such a lovely relationship and Jenny has seen him through several important developmental stages from weaning to dropping his 2nd nap, learning to walk, talk and now on to potty training. I chose to work with Jenny based on our first meeting. We went for an interview at her house and within minutes she had my little one (who is quite clingy) playing happily on the floor with age appropriate toys while we chatted. It was really different to the nursery's i'd been touring where i had found that, while clearly caring and qualified, none of the staff connected with him on a personal level that quickly. I strongly agree with the other reviews on here about how Jenny goes above and beyond in terms of providing a rich and varied experience for the kids she minds, and that the dynamics between the different age groups are a positive part of that. But i also really appreciates that she has always been very happy to work with me on keeping to a predictable and age-appropriate routine, so i feel confident when i collect him that he will have napped and eaten well during the day, but will also have been awake long enough to go to bed on time for me in the evening. I also think it's worth mentioning that i am a single parent and Jenny has been very sensitive to this both in practical terms (such as offering me a bit of additional flexibility about pick up time when i was delayed at work and there was nobody else to call), and on a emotional level too (for example she asked me in advance how i wanted to deal with fathers day and suggested making a grandad card instead). I have also used the babysitting services Jenny offers to parents of kids she minds to help with long work days and occasional social stuff too, and when i have been ill but my kid has been well. As other parents have said in previous reviews, communication with Jenny is fast and friendly, and the photos she sends in the day are lovely to receive. But the best evidence i have that she does a great job is that when i pick my boy up, he is smiling and happy and gives her a big goodbye kiss at the end of each day.
