A little about me, I have worked in a nursery setting for four years, during which time I completed my level 1 and 2 in Caring for Children. I gained experience in the Baby room and the Toddler room where I was a key worker. I then decided to change my career and started working at Butlins Skegness then moved to Minehead resort. During my time at the two resorts, I was a Redcoat Entertainer for five seasons. Whilst there I gained new skills and experiences such as hosting events, organising and leading kids clubs, performing in shows, learning different circus skills, and I also became a puppeteer. I loved being a Redcoat, we always had new guests to speak to on each break. Now I have relocated back to the Swansea area, to which I would love to continue working alongside children and very soon gain my level 3 qualification in Childcare. I am a very bubbly person, always full of energy and very hard working.
During my time in nursery I cared for children from new born to 10 years old. While in nursery one of my roles was to drop off and pick up the children to school. I also passed my Paediatric First Aid course while in nursery which payed off, I would like to do a refresher course as it has been a few years. I was approach by a few of the parents in nursery to do some babysitting for them, sometimes that was after nursery hours and also on the weekends.
My experience at Butlins was amazing I loved working with my team and always talking to new guests everyday. While in the venues at Butlins in between shows I always found new ways to entertain all the children. I also ran activity sessions such as arts and crafts, pottery painting and making bath bombs. I enjoyed helping the kids learn about science by doing science experiments and teaching them facts about the animals we had in the ‘Discovery Zone’. I was chosen to be part of a five person team to be a coach in the Butlins Learning Adventure, where different schools came to Butlins to stay and take part in many different activities. My role was to lead some of the activities such as dance, magic, drum and circus skills workshops. And one of my favourite parts of this was creating a disco at the end of their stay where I would DJ and do the party dances.
I also have experience in helping to care for foster children, one of my close friends is a foster parent. I would always be over her house playing and helping to settle the children into her household. When I am older I would love to become a foster carer.
I have level 1 and 2 in childcare, I am looking to do my level 3 children qualification soon as I am able.
Am available for full days Monday's to Friday's. I can also do weekends and evenings.
