My name is Claire. As a French national I have been living In the UK for over 25 years.
For the past 8 years, I have worked in busy London Hospitals as a Maternity Support Worker, supporting mothers and their babies on the Labour and Postnatal wards. I have gained great experience in caring for women and babies in this early period.
It has always been such a privilege for me to work in Maternity and being able to guide and support parents in the first few days of such an amazing time of their lives. However, I love working in home environments in order to truly tailor the care I provide to your needs. However, I love working in home environments in order to truly tailor the care I provide to your needs.
It is the most rewarding and enjoyable thing that I have ever done, alongside with becoming a mother myself!
Whilst working for the NHS, I developed a strong interest in breastfeeding and colostrum harvesting. The passion for this specialist area of Maternity led me to a new role within the Infant Feeding Team at Croydon Maternity Unit where I supported mothers whilst growing the unit in order to achieve The UNICEF Baby Friendly Level 3 Accreditation.
This role was a great challenge and very inspiring! I thrived in a socially and economically diverse environment which further enriched my understanding of the many facets of breastfeeding.
Throughout my time in the NHS, I completed a 2-year foundation degree course in Health and Social Development at South Bank University.
Aside from my role in supporting new mothers and their babies, I have babies of my own. I am the proud mother to two wonderful children: a bright 20-year-old son and a wonderfully creative 16-year-old daughter. I am immensely proud of the fact that they are both bilingual.
I enjoy spending time with them, supporting their development and cooking as a family.
This brings me to my next passion: cooking! I love cooking (as both my children do) and I am more than happy to offer this service alongside supporting new parents!
I know first-hand how difficult it is to even get 5 minutes to have a shower, yet alone cook dinner!
I am a calm, patient yet dynamic Newborn Care Specialist who really enjoys the outdoor as well as cardio workout. To unwind in my spare time, I crochet and always have personal projects such as cross stitching and embroidery.
I am very much looking forward to working with you and providing both practical and emotional support for you and your family, helping you to successfully establish breastfeeding (or bottle feeding), while looking after you and the little one - and allowing you to recuperate!
My flexible approach means that my support can be tailored to your needs and be focussed on your wellbeing and baby’s development.
