My name is Michelle and I live in Dorset with my family. My background working with young children began when I trained as a Nursery Nurse. After some years working in various roles, I decided to extend my knowledge and training by completing a degree in Early Years. This training was done alongside working and then later having my first child so there was lots of juggling with becoming a new mum and studying.
I am patient, enjoy listening to others and will always strive to find the best plan of action to assist any parent. A sleep problem with one child may be completely different to another, therefore the approach may well take a different path. I am organised, methodical and believe that structure and routine with children is extremely helpful.
I am offering one-to-one private sessions which can either take place on the phone or zoom so despite where you live, I can make contact. Should you particularly want to meet at your home, I am happy to discuss this. Please do not hesitate to contact me for an informal chat to see how my services can best support your family.
My career began as a private nanny working in Paris, New York and London. I cared for new babies and children of school age. I had sole charge positions but also worked alongside families supporting them with all aspects of daily routines and challenges.
I have held positions in nursery, infant and primary schools as a Community Nursery Nurse supporting the class teacher.
For seven years I worked for the NHS in SW London as a Community Nursery Nurse based with a Health Visiting Team. My role involved supporting families on a one-to-one basis working through a variety of difficulties to include sleep patterns, diet, behaviour, play and speech and language. I saw children monthly in the clinic by appointment where I would complete developmental assessments and make any necessary referrals to other professionals. I set up and facilitated weekly baby massage classes and a physical activity class for older children to attend with their parent/carer.
My love of drama was used in preparing children for LAMDA drama exams on a weekly basis at a local theatre school.
