Caroline (who was recommended to me by a neighbour) has been looking after our daughter since she turned one and in the six months she has been there has truly developed and grown into such a wonderful character. Caroline’s home from home environment allows children to get all the comfort and care they would do if they were at home. The younger babies are able to sleep in full size cots, with an initial settling in period sleeping on their own and Caroline will always try to keep schedules that have been set at home. I love that because it’s a small nursery setting the children aren’t separated into age groups so that they are able to learn from the older ones and the older ones can learn how to be gentle and patient with the little ones. This is something that I feel has really encouraged our daughters development, from talking, to using cutlery, to growing in confidence. Clearly our daughter loves the nutritious food that is served, she definitely eats far more there than at home with us! No doubt from copying the other children. She also employs such wonderful staff who all show such love and compassion for all the children.
Having been one of the original “lockdown babies” Caroline showed incredible patience and care with her whilst she adjusted to a new home from home setting. Because of Covid restrictions our daughter had never been left on her own with anyone before which made finding the right place very important for us. This included a longer than normal settling in period, ensuring her morning nap was still kept before she dropped it completely and would really help get to sleep when she needed it so that she wouldn’t be erratic and overtired when she got home. Caroline would always message if she seemed a little upset at drop off (normally 30seconds later to say she had stopped and was busy entertaining herself) and it was so wonderful to see her waddle off, wave and blow kisses when she was fully settled plus seeing her little excited face on pick up. When I found out we were expecting our second baby Caroline and her team have helped her to understand by reading numerous books, teaching her how to say “baby” and also showing her how to look after a doll.
I absolutely love the daily photos and updates! They make me so happy to receive. Caroline and her staff prepare a wonderful array of activities for the children from paddling pools in the hot summer months and plenty of outdoor games to ginger bread biscuit making, messy paint play, drawings birthday cards ahead of parties and of course lots of learning / singing etc. Honestly I cannot describe how confident, bubbly and how quickly she started to develop quicker than the traditional milestones since having been in the setting. I couldn’t recommend Caroline and her team more!
