About Me
I am currently a SENCO at an FE college who loves supporting those with SEND needs and helping them achieve. I have a degree in English literature with BSL (2:1) and have taught functional skill all the way up to level 2.
I believe in a trauma informed approach and have worked with both AP learners and complex needs learners.
My Experience
I have worked within the age ranges of 4-18, this has included work in an after school club and an early years teaching assistant. In addition to this I have worked as a foundation and alternative provision lecturer delivering functional skills English and Maths to SEMH learners with an EHCP, as well as teaching on a course with a complex and high needs cohort (medical needs included).
I am now a SENCO in FE primarily working with these foundation learners ensuring that their needs are met within mainstream education. I have a level 5 teaching qualification.
In addition to my education work I have supported in a residential children’s home giving me a broad spectrum of experience.
