We had a disappointing experience with Millen. After several back and forth conversations, a phone call and an in-person meeting in our home, we agreed on a regular nanny position with Millen’s minimum hours required and planned all our work around her starting. The night before she was due to begin with us, she let us know she had accepted a PA job offering a higher salary. While I completely understand people need to do what’s best for them, the timing left us without childcare at the last minute after we’d stopped searching and made plans based on her commitment. She did apologise and recommend another nanny, (who turned out to be extremely far away), but the lack of reliability made what was already a stressful situation at the time much harder, as we were really sorely let down.
