About Me
I am a 21 year old Irish student from Belfast. I am studying Education at The University of Strathclyde, and I am to become a Juvenile Prison teacher when I graduate. I have been an Irish dancer for 16 years now, and I am an avid runner training for my first half-marathon. I absolutely love to cook, with it being my favourite hobby besides running! I absolutely love working with kids as I have done from a young age. I am currently learning how to drive and aim to be qualified in the next month or so.
My Experience
I have worked with young children from the age of 12 teaching Irish Dancing and Surfing, as well as helping in some track and field training in school. During my summers in Donegal growing up (until summer 2022) I volunteered teaching young children various water sports such as surfing, paddle boarding and kayaking. This volunteer job taught me how to ensure the utmost safety for the young children regarding their safety in both the water and the sand. I also further developed important communication skills and patience.
I had to complete jobs such as;
Securing helmets and life jackets on the children properly
Setting up and putting away the various water sports equipment correctly
Ensuring the children are safe in and out of the water
My Qualifications
I do not carry any childcare qualifications however I am a holder of a PVG Disclosure Scotland statement of scheme membership which allows me to work with children.
