I am eighteen years old and have just finished college with a Level 3 health and social care degree. This has gave me knowledge on babies and children’s development. I have also been working with children over the past two years, working in both a primary school and also a nursery. This gives me experience of working with children aged 0-11.
My Experience
Over the past two years, I have been working part time in childcare settings. Working in both a Primary School called St Aidans Catholic Primary School for a year, and also a nursery called Hawthorne House day nursery where I am currently working three days a week. This has helped me to gain experience with babies and taught me how to properly look after babies, including changing them, feeding them and learning how to sterilise and make bottles. I feel as though I know about the stages of development which babies go through. I have also been doing baby sitting for family members where I have been given full trust over the babies. I also have Certificates in “Further knowledge around the risks of radicalisation and the kinds of support available to those at risk”, as well as also having a certificate in “Female Genital Mutilation: Recognising and Preventing FGM”.
