Unreliable

Christabelle was approached on the basis that her profile indicated she was local to myself, naming schools near by, her profile indicated she has her DBS, has child safeguarding and welfare qualifications. Having received an email to state she attempted to reach out to me, and with me starting a new position soon I updated my childcare profile to reflect the children today (as it was 2 years out of date), Upon Christabelle messaging me, I explained a brief on what I was looking for, she confirmed her rates as £14ph, which is what is stated on her profile at the time, but could go slightly lower, she was explained thats not necessary as I already felt £14 was lower than the average £18-20ph.

So at this point she appeared ideal for the role, having messaged on Watsapp I set out the process I follow, which is a two stage interview, 1. to get to meet her myself as the parent (this allows me to discuss the role indepth, opportunity to ask questions, check her credentials is DBS and qualifications and ID) the 2nd interview is for a brief 1 hr interaction with the children, which allows for the children to gain a feel for what she is like as a character and if they would want her to become our future nanny.

I asked about her availability for the interview, and based on the availability she indicated an interview was mutually agreed for 29.07.26 at 14:00

at 13:30 I got a message to state there had been a medical emergency with her husband, which was understandable, these things can occur and she immediately proposed a follow up asking if she could attend an interview the next day, I agreed, proposed 12:00, to which she confirmed that would be ok

at 12:00 she failed to show, with no communication, single ticks on Whatsapp.
It could be that she did not have her phone on, due to the emergency etc, but from my perspective, this role is not for a night out with friends, its for a job, i require a nanny that can be depended on, as a nanny that fails to communicate, fails to show, then sees no one available for the children which in turn poses a risk on my employment, as such I take these matters seriously as it then becomes a serious risk to my households income, as a result, for me personally, I didnt have a possitive interaction with Christabelle in the end, whilst there was no disputes, no arguments, there was a lack of communication that left me feeling this person is unrealiable.

This review is posted not to damage her chances of work but offering feedback to help her to become more successful in the future, she would need to communicate, be transparent (ie: if she is no longer available for the role or interested, that its ok to change their mind, but a simple message to state so is a sign of mature reliability, unfortunately I cannot state I experienced this with Christabelle depite all the other cues being possitive, this is the lasting impression)
