About Me

My name is Maritia, I am 22 and the eldest of 7 children (4 of which have autism, three are high functioning and one is low functioning). I consider myself to be very approachable and caring. My whole life has consisted of looking after children of all ages and needs. I am very kind and nurturing. I love the outdoors and exploring I have been on many school trips (parks, the beach, the library, woodlands, soft play, etc) so I have a lot of knowledge on nearby kid friendly safe areas to visit. I am very artsy so I can teach lots of fun things such as drawing, painting, fine motor skills (cutting, glueing, threading), clay, beads and lots more. I can provide sensory play such as water play, sorting (colours, numbers, objects), sand, lights and lots more. I do not drive however, I know all the local bus routes or I enjoy walking (I can teach road safety).

My Experience

I have been working as a TA2 in a SEN school since 2021, I have a huge knowledge of SEN. As stated above I have siblings who also have SEN so I have grown up learning, adjusting and understanding children’s needs.
As a TA I have attended lots of school trips including residential trips. I help children day to day with learning, play, friendships, intimate care (nappies, accidents, getting dressed), lunches, sensory circuits, safety, medical needs, behaviour etc)
Prior to this I have previously helped my Nan when she used to childmind which was a huge realisation as to why I started to work with children.
I have also lots of baby experience, being the eldest of so many siblings I know the ins and outs of feeding, intimate care, sensory stimulation, play etc.

I have a level 2 teaching and learning in schools
A maths GCSE 4
A English GCSE 4
A fashion art and design level 2
