My Experience

I have been an au pair for 2 years and have taken care of three boys in my first year ahe’s 8, 5, & 2. In my second year I took care of one girl, 1 and a boy, 4. I have also lived in with the families so I have the experience of being with the children after work hours too. My responsibilities included feeding them breakfast, getting them ready for the day, dropping the children off to school and then planning out activities for the toddlers throughout the day. I put them down for naps, and then would play with them in the house, read to them and ensure they were learning each day for example numbers and alphabets. I would also go and pick the other children up from school, and feed them snacks and ensure their needs were being met when necessary. I occasionally did overnight care whereby I was on standby if the parents had gone for vacation. This would entail waking up if the toddlers had woken and putting them back down to sleep. I prepared meals daily and had a different activity planned each day (library, museums, in house play, parks etc.).

My Qualifications

I am first aid trained as well as trained as a childcarer as part of my au pair programme.

• Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
• Nannying from £12.00 per hour (gross)
