My Experience

I have over 5 years of experience working with children in both informal and professional settings, including roles as a *live-in au pair*, *nanny*, and *babysitter*. Since arriving in the UK, I have worked with multiple families, supporting them in their daily routines and offering high-quality care for their children in a safe, warm, and engaging environment.

For the first 3 years living in the uk, I worked full-time as both an au pair and a nanny, providing childcare for children ranging from toddlers to school-aged kids. My responsibilities included:
- Preparing healthy meals and snacks
- School and nursery drop-offs and pick-ups
- Organising playtime and creative indoor/outdoor activities
- Helping with homework and reading
- Evening routines and occasional overnight care

One of the most meaningful roles I have had was working with a young girl with special needs, a position I held for a year and a half. This experience allowed me to develop strong skills in patience, communication, and adaptability. I worked closely with the child and her family to support her daily care, therapy routines, and emotional needs. I gained hands-on experience in creating a structured, calming environment that supported her development while respecting her pace and individuality.

This role required not only practical caregiving but also emotional sensitivity and the ability to respond effectively to her behavioural and sensory needs. It was a deeply rewarding experience, and I’m proud to say I have verifiable references from the family, who can speak to my reliability, compassion, and professionalism.

In addition, I have worked with other families on both short- and long-term arrangements. I have built lasting relationships with both children and parents, and I take pride in becoming someone children feel safe and happy with. I love engaging them through creative play, storytelling, arts and crafts, nature walks, and learning through fun.
I’m a naturally easy-going and responsible person, always committed to providing a safe, positive, and stimulating environment for children. I value open communication with parents and always provide regular updates about the child’s day, routines, moods, and milestones.
I also speak both English and Spanish fluently, which can be beneficial in multicultural or bilingual households.
Additionally, I hold basic first aid training and am more than willing to update or expand my certifications if required.
