About Me
As a mother and grandmother, I bring warmth, patience and real-life experience into every home. My approach is gentle and child-led, influenced by Rudolf Steiner principles. Review Feb-June 2024: “Emily currently looks after our children before and after school. She has slotted into their routines seamlessly, any last minute changes she takes in her stride and nothing is too much bother.
She has an incredibly patient manner with the children which is no mean feat given their ages - but she approaches it with care, patience and fairness and a good dollop of understanding of what children are like - there is nothing a fresh pancake can’t sort out!” Mum in Farnham
Review: “Emily looked after my twins (4) for several hours over the course of a weekend - they loved spending time with her engaging in role play/outdoor games (weirdly, focusing a lot on slugs ?).
They enjoyed spending time with her and are keen to invite her back!” Dad in Winchester
Review for caring for a post operative lady, housekeeping and chauffeuring to appointments:
January 2025
“Emily came to help me for three months following my foot surgery. She helped in the house wherever required and chauffeured me to various appointments when I was unable to drive. She was a pleasure to have around, extremely capable and always very cheerful and calm which was exactly what I needed. I really cant recommend her highly enough…she’s brilliant

Fees & Working Arrangements
Please take a moment to read the information below before contacting me, as it outlines my fees and working arrangements.
I work as a self-employed nanny, and invoices can be issued weekly or monthly, depending on your preference.
Weekday rate: £20.00 per hour for one child
Additional children: £2.00 per hour per additional child
From 6th April 2026 (start of the new tax year) my weekday rate will increase to £21.00 per hour.
Weekend rate: £22.00 per hour.
If driving is required during working hours with the children in the car, mileage is charged at 45p per mile.
If possible, I would be very grateful to plug in my hybrid car during the day. The battery is very small and provides around 12 miles of electric driving. A full charge takes approximately 2–3 hours and costs around £1, so this small courtesy is always appreciated.

Scheduling & Availability
I work with families on set, agreed days and hours, so that everyone has clarity and parents can rely on consistent childcare. Reserving these days year-round allows me to provide dependable care and build strong, long-term relationships with the families I work with.
As I am self-employed, families reserve specific days and hours in my schedule, and those reserved times remain payable if they are not used - including family holidays or cancellations for any reason - as the time has been set aside exclusively for that family.
***
Annual Leave
I take five weeks of paid annual leave each year:
• Three weeks in August
• Two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period
This shared understanding helps create a stable and reliable arrangement for everyone.
***
Bank Holidays
Bank holidays will normally be taken as non-working days. If a bank holiday falls on one of my regular reserved working days, the usual fee still applies as the day remains reserved in my schedule.
***
I would be very happy to discuss your family’s needs and see whether I might be a good fit to support you.
If these arrangements suit your family, I would love to hear from you.
Many thanks,
Emily

Emily came to help us for a number of weeks. We homeschool our two daughters and I needed support with our house, including cleaning, and also childcare.
Emily was wonderful with our two girls and completely understood our approach to parenting, engaging the girls in creative and imaginative play and then quietly moving on to house tasks while keeping an eye on what the girls were up to.
I’ve never seen childcare like that, and I really appreciated someone else being able to encourage independent play like that (instead of simply entertaining them). She was also very invested in hearing more about our approach, and was flexible in her approaches, making little tweaks here and there to align more fully with our parenting style (though as I said, she was so aligned that not many tweaks were needed at all!).
Emily is also highly emotionally intelligent and didn’t bat an eyelid at emotional releases (/tantrums!) which created a sense of calm and security in the house.
Emily’s level of cleaning was superb, I doubt we will ever have such a clean house again!
I would be very happy to act as a reference for Emily’s work and am so grateful for her support.

Emily is wonderful. My son has complex needs and can be aggressive with his PDA. There are not many people who can understand him and know how to handle it. Emily has such a calm, loving, accepting nature. We all instantly took to her including my son. I am very sad I am unable to take her on due to the unusual hours I am after.

I cannot express enough how grateful we are to have Emily as an advocate for our special needs daughter. From the moment she stepped into our lives, it was clear that she is truly exceptional. Emily's love and care shine through in everything she does.
She has an incredible ability to connect with our daughter, understanding her needs and preferences like no one else. Emily approaches every situation with patience and enthusiasm, which helps our daughter feel comfortable and secure. Her gentle demeanor and positive attitude create a nurturing environment where our daughter can thrive.
Emily goes above and beyond in every aspect of her role. Whether it's engaging in fun activities, helping with daily routines, or simply providing companionship, she approaches it all with a level of dedication that is inspiring. Watching their bond grow has been a heartwarming experience for us as parents.
I would highly recommend Emily to anyone seeking support for their special needs child. She is a true gem, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have her in our lives!

Emily looked after our little boy (9-12 months) until he started his nursery and was so patient and kind. He bonded with her really quickly which made my return to work much less stressful and a lot easier knowing he is having fun every day. She adhered to our routine and kindly kept us up to date with photos, videos and nap times throughout the day which was very helpful. Also, if there was any time left, she helped us with chores giving us more time we could spend with our little one.
Thank you so much for everything, Emily! We miss you already!

We could not be more grateful to have Emily as a babysitter for my 6-month-old. She bonded with the little one instantly and is incredibly warm and attentive to his needs.
I have no issues with her bottle-feeding the baby, changing him, and ensuring he is appropriately dressed for the weather. I have seen her create a fun, nurturing environment when he is awake, and she has taken him for lovely long walks. She is also very attentive to his cues, especially when he shows signs of tiredness, and acts accordingly, creating a restful, soothing environment for him.
Emily is always punctual and communicative, ensuring she has all the information about how the little one has been feeding, sleeping etc. before she starts her shift and providing regular updates on how he is doing during the day.
Emily is not only reliable but also truly understands the needs of babies. She is trustworthy and we highly recommend her to any family looking for a caring, competent, and experienced babysitter for their little ones.

Emily has been nannying for us for a few months now and she has been a total life saver. She’s been in charge of my 1 year old and 3 year old and she has such a natural way with little ones and is totally dedicated to the job. She has boundless energy and enthusiasm, happy to be outside whatever the weather and my babes absolutely adore her. She helps around the house whenever she has the time and has also been known to prune the roses too! Emily is super organized and so reliable - she will be such an asset to any family.

Thank you so much Phoebe, I’m so privileged to have worked with your beautiful family, and delighted to hear that you have been so happy with my service too!
Emily is a brilliant all-rounder and I couldn't recommend her highly enough.
I live in Churt and have two young children (2 yo) and (6 yo). Emily has been incredible and is everything a family could ask for - fully engaged with the kids; a lovely, calm, structured approach - as well as very fun; happy to get stuck in with multi-tasking meals and house jobs at the same time; punctual and - and just all-in-all a great person to have in the family home.
She has a magic way with the children; is very warm and kind.
She is super reliable, experienced and a very safe pair of hands.
The kitchen is always spotless even after kid meals.
An excellent childcare professional who I recommend very highly.
