About Me
Hello, my name is Hettie, I’m 22 years old and currently living in Canterbury. I have experience working with children aged 18 months to 11 years including children with additional needs. I am currently a room leader at a nursery and after school club and have worked there since 2019 but my dream is to be a nanny!
I am nurturing, kind and fun. I enjoy the freedom of being able to create entertaining and educational activities to help encourage children’s development and I’m very familiar with the EYFS and ensuring children have their needs met to the best of their ability.
I am outdoorsy and enjoy taking the children at my current setting on walks, to the library, to the beach and to our local countryside estate to view the animals.
My Experience
I’m currently based at a nursery and after school club in Thanet. I have been a room leader since September 2023 working with children aged 18 months to 3 years old and have 8 key children. I also work 3 evenings at the after school club working with children aged 4 to 11 years old.
At the nursery my daily routine includes nappy changing, making snacks, household tasks such as shopping and laundry, administering medication, supporting children’s mental and physical health and well-being and working with other social and health care professionals.
I have had multiple key children over the years with additional needs, and I also have a younger brother who has autism who I have always helped my single dad look after so have lots of experience working with children with additional needs.
I am first aid trained, and have been DBS checked and can provide details for these.
My Qualifications
Skillsfirst Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (RQF)
10 GCSE’s and 1 A-Level, and a double BTEC in health and social care.
