About Me
I am a student currently studying Applied Sports Science at the University of Edinburgh, and I am currently in my 3rd year. I play netball for the University’s 2nd team. I grew up in Newcastle, and still regularly visit my parents, sister and friends there! My plans for the future include doing a masters degree in Physiotherapy.
My Experience
During my role as a part-time nanny for two young boys (Aged 3 and 6): I picked them up from school and nursery, set up fun activities for them to do in the evenings, cooked them dinner, completed their ‘nighttime routine’ and put them to bed. I worked for about 5-7 hours, 3 times a week, for 4 weeks. I have also looked after them over the Christmas holidays for the full day, providing multiple activities to help the days be as fun as possible!
I have also been an Au Pair for two young children (Bristol, UK), where I lived there for a week and provided the majority of the childcare, again doing their daily routine with them, whilst continuing to provide fun activities for us to do throughout the week.
Additionally, I have volunteered as a leader in a summer Kids Club, where I had a group of children to look after and oversee in their activities and fun.
Another experience I have had was spending one week volunteering as a teaching assistant at Dame Allan’s Junior School (Newcastle, UK), where I spent the week supporting staff, organising timetables and school events, including sports day.
Finally, I have been babysitting children for the last 4 years, looking after kids from a range of 9 months to 10 years old.
My Qualifications
I have no official childcare qualifications however I have many year of experience, I also posses a DBS.
My Availability
I attend university full time, however most of my lectures are timetables between 9am and 12 noon. I additionally have netball most evenings but I have selected the days that I don’t. My netball commitment might lessen over the next few weeks due to the end of the season.
