Hello, my name is Julie. My childminding business is called Little Bear Childcare Stratford. I live with my husband, Adam, and my two sons, Jack who is 10 and 8 year old James. I have been childminding for the past 9 years with previous experience in childcare.
I live in Stratford Upon Avon, Bridgetown area, south of the river.
Limited availability at the moment but I offer childcare for under 5's full or half days, week days only. I offer all year round care, minus my holidays, or term time only. Please message or email me now for further details and info.
I have a BA Hons degree in design and after changing my career after having children of my own I have gained my childminding qualification, and then my Level 3 in childcare. I enjoy extra courses with in the childcare sector to keep on top of aspects to do with children and their learning. I have been Ofsted graded good for the 9 years I have worked in the childcare sector.
I have a large playroom for childmimding, as well as using the spaces with in my house. There is a safe and secure large garden and we have a pet rabbit called Mr. Carrot.
At Little Bear Childcare I provide a friendly and relaxed home from home environment, where we enjoy painting, crafts, cooking, toys, books, puzzles as well as lots of play and fresh air in the garden. I closely follow the EYFS learning framework to give the children the best possible care and learning opportunities. Daily updates and photos, for under 5's, are produced so you know what your child/children have been doing each day/ week.
We are in walking distance to the recreation ground in Stratford that includes a large play park, fields, butterfly farm and the shops are only a further 5 mins from there.
I will also be attending local play groups, soft play centres, museums, farms as well as taking trips out to different parks, soft play cafes, National Trust properties, woods and other local attractions that I am yet to discover. I like to be busy and my childminding children learn through having fun, exploring and having a go.
Please message me for available spaces and further questions.
I am an Ofsted registered childminder since 2011, always receiving 'good/ grading from Ofsted visits. I have gathered much knowledge through working in Bucks County Council playschemes when I was younger as well as babysitting and in more recent years looking after friends children and of course my own sons and childminding children. I have a degree in printed fashion design but changed my career path when I had children of my own and have never looked back.
I attend evening meetings that the early years and childcare service hold, which allows me to keep up to date with Ofsted and childcare teaching.

Julie has looked after our daughter for the last 2 years up until recently when she and her family made the tough decision to move to a new area. Tessa joined Julie when she was just 11 months old and she’s has loved every day spent with her since. They spent time at play groups, visiting farms, out for walks and playtime in the park. At home she played with the numerous toys and games available, it’s here that she first fell in love with a dolly (and dinosaurs). For a first time mum it was really hard to give my little girl to someone to look after but Julie had a great set up and was a real home away from home. She was so lovely and was always happy to help out with extra days when needed. It’s been a pleasure having Julie look after our baby and we miss her dearly.
From the moment I met Julie I knew I would be happy to leave my son with her when I returned to work. She provides a fun, relaxed and welcoming environment for the children and my son had no problem settling with her. He was so happy he even stayed overnight when my daughter was born. Julie has looked after both of my children for two years and they have both been incredibly happy and settled with her. I loved that they were out and about every day exploring woods, farms, parks and toddler groups. She kept me up to date every day and she had an amazing bond with my children that meant I never worried about their welfare whilst I was at work. She is fantastic and any family would be lucky to have her.
Julie has looked after both my sons over a period of approx 5 years, she is fantastic. Our boys settled in really well, Julie is very good at doing activities. It is so important for them to learn outdoors, Julie taught them about chickens (which she used to keep) and took them regularly to the duck pond too. They enjoyed lovely walks and also interactive play groups where they socialised with other children. I would thoroughly recommend Julie to anyone. A trustworthy hardworking and lovely childminder
My 1 year old son after a horrific experience with a nursery went to Julie. I was so nervous as he was not eating properly (on blended still and wouldn’t tolerate solids). On day one he was a happy bouncy boy who I had been told eat all of his roast dinner. I never looked back. She was amazing and my son loved going to her. Even at 9 years old he still talks about her. Could not recommend her enough.
I can personally recommend Julie to the highest level.
As a new mum I was anxious to leave my baby with anyone when returning to work. Julie made the transition seamless and absolutely understood my needs of regular updates as well as understanding the needs of my little one by proving exciting and fun daily activities to keep the children stimulated and entertained, as well as providing nutritional meals, and cuddles and love in abundance. My little one was happy and content in Julies care and I can’t thank Julie enough for starting us down a truly positive child care path.
