I am an Ofsted-registered childminder based in Chivenor, North Devon, offering a warm, home-from-home childcare setting within my family home.
I live with my husband, our young daughters Harper and Penelope, our friendly dog Rusty, and our cat Olive. Children are welcomed into a nurturing, family-orientated environment where they feel safe, valued, and supported.
? My Approach
Outdoor play is at the heart of my provision. I am passionate about exploring nature, learning about the world around us, and encouraging curiosity through hands-on experiences. I grew up in a large family with four younger siblings on a farm, surrounded by animals and open space — an upbringing that inspired my love for the outdoors and child-led learning.
? The Setting
I have created a safe, stimulating, and enriching environment where children can learn and develop at their own pace. My setting includes:
• A fully enclosed garden for outdoor play
• A cosy book corner to support early literacy
• Easily accessible resources to encourage independence
• Weekly themed activities
• Endless opportunities for imaginative and creative play

My Experience
During my previous employment, I worked with children aged 9 months to 5 years, gaining valuable experience supporting early development across this age range. I was also fortunate to develop a strong understanding of government-funded childcare.
In addition to my professional experience, I am a parent to two young daughter’s, which further enhances my understanding of children’s individual needs and family life.
Prior to my employment, I also gained experience babysitting children of various ages, allowing me to develop confident, nurturing relationships with children and families.
My Qualifications
I hold a full enhanced DBS check, Paediatric First Aid certification, and a Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
I have completed the Childcare.co.uk Childminding Qualification, recognised by Ofsted, which covers the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and observing and recording children’s development.
I am also trained in the administration of government childcare funding.
To ensure the highest quality of care, I regularly undertake professional development and training, continually expanding my knowledge and skills within the Early Years sector.
