My Requirements

I am looking for an after school nanny for my 9 year old son for 2-3 days a week. Ideally he would be picked up from school at 3.30pm and brought home and cared for until 5.30pm. There may also be a requirement for some ad-hoc care for his 5 year old sister included.

Interests include facts, football, gaming, collecting, science, trampolining, ball games, sensory toys, tv. On a school day he’s likely just to want to come home and regulate with some screen time.

He has additional needs so while he is engaging and social on a superficial level he can lack more subtle skills of appropriateness and conflict resolution, particularly around peers or in large noisy groups. Can struggle with emotional regulation when anxiety is heightened.

The ideal person would have a good understanding of low demand approaches and use of indirect language and neutral expressions, not to take challenges too personally, give choice and/or autonomy where possible and maintain boundaries of safety for him and those he interacts with.
