About Me

I am currently looking for a full-time Nanny, Housekeeper or House Manager position. Live in (separate accommodation required) or out. Prepared to relocate. Salary expectations £30-40K (flexible if accommodation provided). No time wasters please.

I’m currently available for weekday and weekend night babysitting.

Also for weekend work; during the day and evening and for weddings/one-off.

I also provide full weekend and over-night care (7 days a week).

Also I am an experienced virtual nanny providing online teaching/fun sessions.

Exceptional references available.

I am a very bubbly and happy person who enjoys life and ensuring that everyone around me smiles! I love children and animals and I was brought up on a farm but now have a very pampered and loved cat called Misha. I live in the countryside and love it!

I have travelled the world over the years and I am a member of MENSA, but please don't let that put you off. I am very down to earth and friendly and can talk to anyone (if I talk too much please kindly ask me to stop). I enjoy having fun and I am told that I am funny and far too much of a fuss-pot as I tend to mother everyone.

Non-smoking, non-drinking and Christian (non-practising).

DRIVING: Own car and full driving license with insurance

DBS: Enhanced and current, available on request

INTERESTS: Playing the piano/music, playing and watching sport (including tennis, swimming, fishing), dining out, cooking, reading, wildlife and animals, outdoors (including walking and bird-spotting), history/old buildings and socialising.

I believe that I have the following qualities that will ensure success in being a nanny-

Loving and nurturing- I have unconditional love for children and always watch out for their well-being. I believe that every child needs loving and nurturing adults in his life to build his self-esteem and proper emotional development.
Good morals and manners- Children learn by example and copy the behaviour patterns of the adults around them. This applies to any type of behaviour, good and bad. They look up to their nannies and assume they can do no wrong. I am committed to setting a good example and being a role model with high morals and proper manners.
Patient- I can patiently answer the endless questions of a preschooler and I do not get frustrated when a toddler throws a temper tantrum.
Able to work long hours- I am used to working a long day whilst staying alert.
Organised- I have great organisational skills which come in handy when children have hectic schedules. I am experienced in not only taking the children to activities, but also coordinating them.
Reliable- I understand the importance of nannies to show up on time so that working parents can go to work and I take my job seriously. I realise that parents rely on me with the schedules and the good care of their children.
Trustworthy- I inspire trust and understand that parents leave their children only with people they trust and those children are their most important possession and the person who spends a lot of time with them must be trustworthy.
Flexible- I realise that most parents have a certain way of raising children and expect nanny to follow it. I have shown experience in adapting my child rearing philosophies to all of the parents that I have worked with.
Initiative- I realise that most parents do not want to be bothered with telling their nanny what to do every minute of the day. I like to keep the children occupied and entertained while getting the must-do things done in an organised manner. I am a committed nanny who creates activities to fill the day and takes the initiative to contribute to the children's development.
Communicative- I believe that open communication is the key to a successful nanny-parent team. I place strong importance on communicating any problems as they arise in a professional manner.

I am more than happy to carry out housekeeping, cleaning, ironing, cooking, etc (as I am a very tidy and organised individual) and travelling with children in my own car to after school activities and so on.

My Experience

I am a childcare professional with over 25 years broad experience of caring for and liaising with children and teenagers from birth to 18 years of age. I am experienced in looking after children/teenagers with mild and severe difficulties, including Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD and deafness.

An energetic, creative and musical individual who enjoys stimulating children through drawing, painting, role play and song/music. Self motivated with an outgoing personality, whilst dedicated to ensuring that all my charges mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health and wellbeing is optimised. I am looking to be a permanent Nanny and to make a positive contribution to a friendly family.

Melanie is such a warm, kind and reliable babysitter, and it is a real relief for me to know I can leave everything in her capable hands while I'm out. She has been patiently building a solid foundation of trust with my 12 year old autistic child, to the point where they can now go out together. Melanie is supportive and accepting when my child needs to retreat, and she'll quite happily take care of household tasks in the meantime - a real gift for a single mum! I would highly recommend her services.

I have used Melanie to sit my 4 high school age children several times and she is always a pleasure to see. She is especially good with my 12 year old Autistic son who really enjoys her visits and who's additional needs she is very good at understanding and managing.
Her communication and punctuality are great. I thoroughly recommend her.

Melanie was everything I expected having read her other reviews. Arriving in good time and replying to messages very quickly.
Melanie was in action as soon as she met our daughter and engaged with her instantly.

Couldn’t recommend her enough.

Thank you Melanie, we’ll be in touch when we’re next in the area.

We booked Melanie as a babysitter for our 5 year old daughter, and straight away on introduction, we felt that she was incredibly warm and friendly.
It took no time at all for our daughter to engage with Melanie as she was so welcoming, and felt instantly reassured that our daughter would be very happy with her for the evening.
Melanie updated me when my daughter had gone to sleep, which helped us to remain relaxed knowing that she was happy and settled.
Melanie was also absolutely amazing with our house cat too, which was an added bonus for us.
It's very clear to see how passionate Melanie is about working with children, and her expert service and lovely caring nature is second to none. Thank you so much, Charlotte and Jim.

Melanie looked after our 1 year old daughter and two sons of one of my bridesmaids, who are 9 months and 2.5 yrs old, on the day of our wedding in Herefordshire.

I was initially cautious having one person look after three young children without previously knowing them all but Melanie said she was confident to do so and she was absolutely fantastic. From initial communication to arrival on the day, she was very professional and clearly extremely experienced. She started in the house in the morning whilst we were getting ready for the wedding and stayed until we returned at midnight. She is full of energy and able to keep a group like this engaged and entertained (which is not an easy task!) whilst also being loving and on top of all things safety. During the wedding, she provided my bridemaid/the other mother with regular updates.

I could not have felt more comfortable leaving our children with someone. I would definitely recommend Melanie and would have no hesitatation in contacting her for babysitting/nannying in the future.
