About Me
Here at Tortoise Shell Childcare, we work together to provide a nurturing, safe and loving environment in which children can thrive. We are a team of two, with over 30 years experience between us, working in primary schools and in the Early Years for the majority of that time. We now bring this experience and knowledge to our childcare setting, which we have carefully and thoughtfully designed with children's independence, safety and development in mind. We both have an excellent understanding of the unique needs of each developmental stage and we work hard to ensure that every child in our care feels valued, secure and supported in their growth. As mothers ourselves, we have created a space that we would have wanted for our own children when looking for childcare; a stimulating environment, a beautiful outdoor space, healthy and nutritious food, individualised and quality care and learning for each child and peace of mind for parents.
My Experience
Prior to opening Tortoise Shell Childcare, I worked as a qualified primary school teacher for 23 years. In my last school, I was also the Early Years Foundation Stage lead and mentor to newly qualified teachers and student teachers.

Tortoise Shell Childcare standard opening hours are from 8am until 6pm. Extended hours are available from 7.30am until 6.30pm. Please contact us if you would like to explore this option.
