About Me
Hi, I’m Laura, an Ofsted Registered Childminder. Working in a home based setting in Shirley, offering a warm, friendly, secure, Montessori inspired and nurturing environment.
My Experience
I have had 16 years of working with early years. Initially as a Movement Instructor, focusing on gross motor, fine motor and ball skills. Recently I worked as co-owner of a Montessori based childminding setting. Now, branching out on my own, where your child will be nurtured and cared for; by going for walks in the woods, taken to play groups, visits to the library, bus journeys, trips out in the community and Spanish classes. Your child will be offered a time to learn, laugh and play. To be curious about the environment around them, as well as encouraging independence, learning practical life skills, and learning through natural consequence. They will be encouraged through positive reinforcement and role modelling good behaviour.

We have sent both our little ones to Laura, and have had the privilege of knowing her for over 3 years. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more kind, caring, and nurturing person to support our children in their early years. Laura creates a calm, warm, Montessori-based environment where children are truly seen and supported as individuals. The days are filled with so many wonderful experiences — walks in the woods, trips on buses, visits to the library, baking and all sorts of creative play, along with fun, engaging Spanish lessons.
What stands out most is Laura herself. She is incredibly thoughtful, patient, and genuinely wonderful with children. Our kids have flourished under her care, growing in confidence, curiosity, and independence, and they absolutely adore her. We feel incredibly lucky to have had Laura play such a special role in our children’s lives - thank you Laura!

Laura has cared for our little boy for the past 2 years.
We are delighted with her childminding, so is our son. Laura helped him to settle in and planned this process so thoughtfully and the care has been outstanding ever since. Laura keeps us in the loop with everything and sends lovely updates and photos to us. She listens carefully to the children and loves interacting with them. Our son has learnt so much since being with Laura and he’s really blossomed into a very confident person, he’s so happy to be there and often asks to go there on weekends!
