Unnecessary Stress for the Family
After what had seemed like a positive working relationship for around a year, the childminder raised a safeguarding concern with social services regarding a single mark on our child. We disagreed with the observation and felt the matter resulted from a misunderstanding after discussing the concern with the childminder.
From our perspective, the referral felt disproportionate to the situation and caused significant stress and anxiety for our family. While we appreciate that childminders have safeguarding responsibilities, we were disappointed that the matter escalated in this way and felt it could have been handled differently through further discussion and communication.
