About Me
Hello! I am an Ofsted registered childminder with spaces available in January providing childcare, as well as school drop off and pick ups for Flamstead end Primary School and Fairfields School.
I have no pets and a strict no smoking policy, I am also married and a mum to two lovely boys.
I have a playroom and a good size garden for children to explore and play in. I have a comfy cosy home from home setting. I can also support with reading and homework during after school care. Feel free to contact me if you'd like to have a look around and meet the family!
I believe that socialising and exploring is incredibly important to little ones I aim to take them out on fun filled days to places such as Cheshunt park, Hertfordshire zoo, local groups and the library.
I believe that children learn best through multisensory experiences that engage their curiosity and imagination, by having varied experiences, children can understand the world in meaningful ways. I aim to create a fun hands-on learning environment where play is at the heart of every activity. Whether it's messy play, outdoor exploration or music, I encourage children to use their senses to develop their skills and confidence. Learning should be joyful and interactive, helping each child to grow to their full potential.
My Experience
I have spent the last ten years working as a special needs primary teacher. Overall, I have worked in special needs childcare for 16 years. This includes working as a carer for special needs children, a scale 4 teaching assistant for the Foundation Stage Support Team in Enfield, support worker at a special needs playscheme and a teaching assistant at an autism specialist primary school.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified primary teacher. I have an up to date DBS, EYFS childminding qualification, and up to date safeguarding qualification. I aso have training in TEACCH, Makaton and SCERTS as well as several SEND strategies and systems.
My Availability
I am available 47 weeks a year, Monday to Friday, 7:30 - 17:30 for childminding. Monday to Friday for school drop offs and pick ups at Flamstead end Primary school.

I have known Ellen for many years, our kids went to the same nursery but are sadly now at different schools. She has looked after my children on a number of occasions. I have always felt very comfortable leaving them with her, she always looks after them as if they were her own.
She is great at organising activities for the kids, there is always something fun she has planned ready and set up for the kids before they arrive, they all adore her and love spending time with her.
She has a beautiful home and setting which has recently been extended and decorated, providing lots of space and light, and she also has a wonderful garden for the kids to explore.
When I have needed her to, she has provided my kids with healthy and nutritional meals. The girls have always eaten well at her house.
Ellen has given me so much parenting support and advice over the years, her knowledge and skills from working as a SEN teacher are so valuable. She knows lots of different learning styles, and tailors her teaching style to suit each child and their needs.
Ellen's communication is outstanding, when the kids have been with her she has sent me updates. I have never had any issues getting hold of her when I have needed to. She is always very quick to respond when I have needed to organise more childcare.
