My Summary

My Experience

I am originally from the U.S. where I was a certified lifeguard and swim instructor, working with ages 6 months to people in their 40s, although I mostly worked with ages 5-10. I also carried a babysitting certification in my early teens before I became a lifeguard. After finishing my undergraduate degree in the US, I worked for a non-profit childcare company with ages 5-13, including with children with behavioral troubles and became very well-versed in a trauma-aware approach to childcare. I also served as an arts and crafts teacher, music teacher, and physical education and yoga teacher, and I believe including those types of activities in babysitting and nannying duties makes for a happy and enriching experience for the children.

My Qualifications

Some of this is a reiteration of my experience- my apologies! But I was a certified lifeguard and swim instructor, which included First Aid, CPR, AED, and differences within each of those those for children and infants, for about six years of my life. I also was a childcare provider at a nonprofit organisation geared at providing care to those who could not afford it or otherwise had difficulty qualifying for other childcare. Working here included learning a trauma-based/aware approach, especially in terms of mediating conflicts between children, as well as another round of CPR and First Aid training. While I am first aid and CPR trained and certified (having been for many years with life guarding and child care), I am not certified in the UK, which is why I have not listed it. However, I have no trouble going to get my First Aid and CPR training here.

My Availability

My weekday availability is fairly open until about 7pm and I am completely open on Friday and Saturday.

• Babysitting from £12.00 per hour

I am flexible depending on level of needed care, number of children, distance away from me, etc
