My Summary

My Experience

I was a teacher for 22 years, teaching mainly music in both primary and secondary settings, but also other subjects including Maths, English, Science and French. I have also worked as a tutor, piano teacher, personal assistant, learning mentor and most recently as a teaching assistant supporting students who have additional needs. I have worked in a home education setting with a very vulnerable student who had profound autism amongst other complex needs. That particular role involved household help, personal care and tutoring, as well as accompanying activities within the local community. I was solely responsible for my student's safety and wellbeing during our sessions. I have worked in special schools, a sixth form college and also with students looked after by the local council. I've also been running a community choir and have accompanied a local women's choir for 11 years.

4 A levels (Music, French, R.E. and General Studies
Undergraduate degree (B. Music Hons)
Postgraduate degree (P.G.C.E.)

My Availability

I will be available throughout the summer and would be happy to use this time as a trial period for possible permanent employment from September. Then I am looking for 2 days a week initially, with a view to more hours going forward. I also have the flexibility to cover some evenings if required both during the summer and from September.
