Full Time Nanny Job in Gloucester
About Me
We’re a young family living just outside Gloucester with our gorgeous baby boy, who is nearly eight months old, and our friendly Jack Russell. Alongside family life, we’re also building a growing business, so life is busy, exciting and no two days are ever quite the same.
Mum works primarily from a home office, so she’ll usually be around during the day, while Dad often works away from home. We’re very hands-on parents and want to stay closely involved in our son’s day-to-day life, so we’re looking for someone to work alongside us rather than simply taking over childcare.
We’re really looking for an extra pair of hands to help our family thrive. While your main priority will always be our little boy, there will naturally be times throughout the day where we’d love support with other tasks around the home. This could include preparing meals, helping keep the house tidy and organised, children’s laundry, running errands, collecting shopping, or simply helping keep everything ticking along.
As our family and business continue to grow, there will also be opportunities for the role to evolve if that’s something you’d enjoy. We always have exciting projects on the go—whether that’s helping organise home improvement projects, researching ideas, booking appointments, assisting with light administration, or supporting us with general life organisation. We’d love to find someone who enjoys variety and is happy to get involved wherever an extra pair of hands is needed.
More than anything, we’re looking for someone who is warm, kind, proactive and trustworthy—someone who will become a valued part of our family, genuinely enjoys working with young children, and takes pride in helping a busy household run smoothly.
We’re hoping to begin on a part-time basis, with the opportunity for the role to become full-time as our family’s needs evolve. If you’re looking for a long-term position where you can build a genuine relationship with a family and grow alongside us, we’d love to hear from you.
My Requirements
Our little boy will always be your main priority. We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves working with babies and understands just how important these early months and years are in shaping a child’s development.
We’re hoping to find someone who is warm, patient, engaging and full of energy—someone who enjoys getting down on the floor to play, encouraging curiosity, celebrating milestones and creating a happy, stimulating environment every day.
Responsibilities will include:
* Providing loving, attentive care throughout the day.
* Planning and leading age-appropriate activities that support learning and development, including sensory play, reading, music, outdoor play and creative activities.
* Encouraging independence and confidence through play and exploration.
* Preparing healthy meals and snacks, supporting our little one’s weaning journey and encouraging positive eating habits.
* Following established nap routines while remaining flexible to his changing needs.
* Taking him out for walks, local classes, parks and other age-appropriate outings.
* Supporting speech, communication and social development through conversation, songs, stories and interactive play.
* Keeping his nursery, toys and play areas clean, organised and safe.
* Washing and putting away his clothes and helping keep his belongings organised.
* Keeping us updated on his day, milestones and anything we’d find helpful to know.
As Mum works from home, we’d love someone who enjoys working as part of a team and communicating openly. We’ll continue to be very involved in our son’s day-to-day care, so this role is about working alongside us to give him the very best start in life.
Essential Requirements
* A genuine passion for caring for babies and supporting early childhood development.
* Previous experience caring for babies or young children (professionally or in a similar role).
* A warm, kind and nurturing personality.
* Reliable, trustworthy and proactive.
* A full UK driving licence and access to a car, as our home is in a semi-rural location and driving is essential for outings, activities and day-to-day travel.
* A valid paediatric first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
