About Me

I am a registered childminder who achieved an 'OUTSTANDING' grade at my last Ofsted inspection.

I am fully vaccinated against Covid 19.

I live in a quiet cul de sac in Yateley and have been childminding since May 2000.

I have three children of my own aged 24, 21 and 18.

I offer a happy environment for the children in my own home offering a dedicated playroom for the children to play in. I have a wide variety of toys available for different age groups for both boys and girls.

I also have a safe and secure enclosed garden which is astroturfed and enables year round outdoor play. I have a wide variety of outdoor activities available for the children to use which includes a trampoline, sandpit, water play, climbing frame and a wide selection of ride on cars.

I attend toddler groups, farms and soft play barns in and around Yateley and enjoy getting out and about with the children on a daily basis. This, I feel, enables the children to mix with other children which they all love.

I also enjoy sharing lots of craft and cooking experiences with the children, something that the children really enjoy doing.

I am currently available to pick up from any preschools in Yateley and currently pick up from Westfields Infant and Junior Schools.

I have a 9 year old Labrador called Alfie and a Retriever puppy called Luna. We have had both dogs since they were 8 weeks old. Alfie and Luna are adored by all of the children.

I have lots of references and appreciation letters from my parents (current and past) which I would be happy to share with you should you wish to meet up to discuss your childcare requirements with me.

My Experience

Over 20 years experience of working in childcare and lots of hands on experience gained from looking after my own children.

My Qualifications

I have successfully completed a Diploma in Home Based Childcare and am First Aid qualified.

I am a member of PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare & Early Years).

I have a Certificate for Food Hygiene and promote healthy eating for all children in my care. I offer a varied diet for the children I provide meals for and am happy to discuss individual diet requirements should your child have any allergies or intolerances.

I am happy to accept childcare vouchers as part or full payment of fees.

I am also able to claim the 15 hours free childcare per week your child will be entitled to from the term after their third birthday and will be accepting the 30 hours free childcare for all eligible children from September 2017. These free hours can also be split with your child's preschool if you wish.

In addition to this I am also able to claim 15 hours per week childcare for all eligible 2 year olds. Please feel free to contact me to discuss this in more detail.

I am also registered to accept tax free childcare payments.

Nicola has been childminding my daughter (who is now 20 months old) for about a year. Before she started going to Nicola she would only want to be with myself and my husband, now my daughter is confident with lots of different adults and social situations. Nicola takes the children to different groups which has encouraged her interaction with other adults and has developed her confidence with others. She has developed some good friendships with the other children that Nicola looks after. Nicola encourages them to interact and to socialise with other children which is why my daughter has developed these friendships. Nicola has a lovely black labrador (Alfie) which my daughter loves and has encouraged her interest in animals. She ensures that the children are safe around Alfie and they know how to interact with him. Since my daughter started she has developed so much and we feel that being around children of different ages has encouraged her development and speech. Nicola has identified her next steps and has provided opportunities for her to develop and work on them.

Over the past year our daughter has formed a great relationship with Nicola and is very fond of her and the other children, and I would have no hesitation in recommending Nicola to anyone looking for childcare for their children.

Nicola is a lovely and friendly childminder. Our son started with nicola last year when he was 8months roughly. We love reading the daily diary and seeing pictures of what he has been up to. They go to lots of different places. My son is very happy with Nicola and her setting. I would highly recommend Nicola to other families as she does a great job.

Nicola has looked after my eldest son since he was 10 months old (January 2009) and his younger brother since October 2011.

Both of my children have always enjoyed going to Nicola's. The boys feel that they are part of her family, helped by the interaction of Nicola's children with the boys.

As a parent I can't fault Nicola, she has followed my lead with both boys from day one with regards to feeds, eating, sleep routines and potty training. Nicola undertakes a wide range of activities with the children, from attending local toddler groups to baking with the children in her home. Nicola is safety conscious and I feel the boys are secure in her care.

Nicola completes a daily diary of what the boys have done, eaten and achieved. In addition to following the Early Years framework, Nicola produces and maintains fantastic journals for the children, full of photos and notes of key milestones and activities they have achieved / undertaken.

Where my children have required additional support Nicola has followed the guidance provided from the children's health care professionals. As the boys have grown older and started pre-school and school she has helped the boys with the transition.

I would thoroughly recommend Nicola as a childminder.

Nic has looked after our son, twice a week, since he was 6 months old. She's like a second mother to him & I cannot rate her highly enough. No words really do justice to the exceptional service she provides.
If you're looking for a warm, friendly, caring & professional environment in which to place your child, look no further than Nic.
Our little boy was welcomed into Nic's home & family with open arms from day one. Her sons are like brothers to him & all the children she cares for are like siblings.
We receive daily reports on what he has done when in her care, as well as a colourful, photo-filled, comprehensive folder every term, tracking his progress against EYFS.
Nic's home is fully equipped with toys, dressing-up outfits & learning materials to teach & nurture the children; as well as a safe, fun garden in which they can play all year round due to astro turf. So smart.
The children have a healthy mix of time with Nic, time together & time at toddler groups & outings to experience all aspects of social interaction.
We genuinely couldn't be happier with our choice of childminder.
