About Me

Hi,
my name is Wendy. I am a qualified nanny, with over 17 years of childcare experience which I have gained through training in nurseries while the majority is as a nanny. I have worked in a mix of positions, mainly sole charge but also shared care. I feel a can be adaptable to changing roles and responsibilities.

I am a mature, kind and patient person with a love for working with children. I enjoy arts and crafts, baking, reading, singing and dancing which have shown to come in handy when entertaining little ones.
I have a soft spot for the toddler stage, when children are busy learning to walk and talk. Watching their thought processes when learning to navigate the world and communicating can be so rewarding.

I have provided care as a sole charge nanny, shared care/mothers help, babysitting and proxy parenting.

My knowledge and experience has helped with raising my own daughters who will both be at full time school.

I have experience looking after newborns to teens. Covering milestones such as weaning, toilet training and transitions to preschool, school and even secondary school.

My Experience

1.5 day Nanny position- Beaconsfield (January 2025- Present)

I have been working part time for a family in Beaconsfield, looking after a one year old girl. The role was sole charge although mum worked from home. I would follow the day to day routine and providing a stimulating and fun environment. We would play games both at home and in the garden, go for walks and to the park, arts and crafts and baking. I would also assist with the child’s laundry when needed and batch cooking meals for the week. The role will be reduced in the summer due to increased nursery hours.

1 day Nanny position- Penn (September 2024-Present)

I have been working as a term time only nanny one day a week for a family in Penn, looking after two boys aged 2 and 4. They only needed help during school hours while mum taught at schools. My role was solely focused on the children and keeping them safe, happy and engaged. We would play at home with various toys and games, doing arts and crafts, go for walks to the park and occasionally to the local play group. I would also assist with nappy changing and providing healthy snacks and lunches. The role is due to end in the summer as the eldest starts school and the youngest will start preschool.

Poolside Assistant- Dizzy’s Dolphins Swim School (April 2024-Present)

I currently work part time with the swim school as a poolside assistant at different locations in the afternoons.
My duties include:
• Opening and closing the venues, including pool testing at some sites.
• Setting out equipment and risk assessments of the pool.
• Greeting and conversing with the swimmers and parents.
• Ensuring poolside rules are followed by those in and out of the water.
• Keeping poolside clean and safe.
• Sharing information between the parents, swim teachers and owner.

Temporary Wrap around Nanny- Stoke Poges (September 2023-February 2024))

Part time, 4 mornings and afternoons.

I looked after boy and girl twins aged 4 who are at full time school. I originally helped with after school pick up, homework help, giving dinner and helping prepare for the next day. The role developed so that I also help with morning school run, evening babysitting and school holiday care when needed.

Responsibilities:
• School runs.
• Providing meals and snacks.
• Homework help.
• Keeping areas used clean and tidy.
• Occasional babysitting and holiday care.

Sole charge Nanny- Stoke Poges (January 2023-July 2023)

Position full time, 4 days

I helped this family look after their 2 daughters who were age 4 and 2 when the position started, while at also taking my own 2 daughters who were age 4 and 1. It was a full time position balancing the care and needs of all 4 children and school runs, nursery duties, cooking a family meal, homework help and making sure everything was ready for the next school day. In the school holidays I would organise play dates and activities both in and out of the house. The family were very outdoorsy so we aimed to be out on walks or riding bikes and scooters whenever possible.

Responsibilities:
• Nursery duties- children’s washing, making sure rooms and playroom were tidy.
• Helping keep the house tidy after use, putting away shopping and running errands.
• School runs.
•Organise and take to activities/play dates.
•Provide healthy meals and snacks.
•Liaise with school.
•Homework help.
•Occasionally providing extra babysitting/overnight care.

Sole charge Nanny- Flackwell Heath (April 2022-December 2022)

Part time position, 4 days

I was with this family to help collect their youngest ( girls age 6)from school, take to after school activities, help with homework and provide dinner. It was a part time position I was lucky enough to take my 2 daughters with me. I would also occasionally pick up older siblings from secondary school and provide extra care in the holidays where I would organise play dates or activities.

Responsibilities:
• School pick up.
• Take to after school activities.
• Homework help.
•Provide evening meal.
• Occasional babysitting and holiday care.

Sole Charge Nanny- Beaconsfield (2016-2022)
Position-Full time, 5 days

I had been with this family for just over 5 years, looking after one child from the time he was 2 years old. Over that time I helped his transition from solely having a nanny to preschool and then on to school. My role also transitioned from nanny to nanny/PA whirls the was at full time school. During my time here I have helped with the challenges of potty training, school transitions, and homeschooling during covid. My charge also has some health issues which I has been very involved with attending hospital appointments, arranging and liaising with occupational therapists and physio therapists as well as working with parents and teachers to provide consistency.
I was very fortunate to have a great relationship with the family which was strengthened when I had my oldest daughter who still has a very strong bond with my previous charge.
Responsibilities:
•Ensuring the personal needs are met on a daily basis.
•Food shopping for my charge so that I can provide healthy, balanced meals.
•Nursery duties e.g. washing for the child, maintaining bedroom, play room and any areas we have used are tidy afterward.
•Take and collect from school.
•Plan and arrange play dates, extra curricular activities/classes both term time and in the holidays.
•Occasionally shop for new clothing for my charge.
•Arrange and take to doctors, dentist and hospital appointment.
•Help with homework.
•Provide overnight care when needed. And occasional proxy parenting.
