Hi, I'm Jay a fun-loving, responsible, nurturing, kind, 'outdoors' Nanny.
I have over 15 years professional childcare experience and am qualified to level 3 in childcare. I also have a Nanny Insurance policy, along with childcare specialist car Insurance policy and I am OFSTED registered, also, after being randomly checked by OFSTED in 2015 and again in July 2018. After both checks, I was certified to qualify for the compulsory part of the childcare register..... very proud!
Upon joining a new family, I am looking forward to using already gained and valuable childcare experience and continue to learn more, to further my abilities and existing childcare skills.
Caring is innate to me and I derive much pleasure from being with children of all ages and love seeing the world "through their eyes"!
I am passionate about providing first class childcare to all children under my supervision and I am proud to say that I have an enthusiastic attitude and work hard to ensure good practice is demonstrated across all areas of my work.
As my references show, I have a smiley, bubbly nature and a natural affinity with children of all ages and love to get down (on the floor if necessary!) to their level and have lots of fun and laughter.
I am very organised, yet flexible enough to meet the very different needs of all children I have in my care and aim create a consistent, safe and fun environment and always promote fun learning through play!
I love being outdoors and have many hobbies including walking, gardening, cycling and swimming, I especially enjoy reading, cooking, baking and healthy eating. I love socialising and meeting new people. I am also very 'handy' and creative with a needle and thread too, and love to make soft furnishings as well as clothes.
I have my own child car seats and baby 'travel systems' from birth through to 6 years+
I have worked as a babysittter (from the age of 15 years) also in Nurseries, private and public, as a live-in/out nanny along with placements in schools during my training, all of which have given me a good insight into the different types of childcare/education available for all ages of children, therefore I possess valuable experience of working with children aged between 4 months - 9 years. I have a good sound and solid understanding of the EYFS which has enabled me to adapt well in each of my childcare positions, as my references show! I strive to ensure I provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment that is most of all fun, as children respond well to this and learn in the process.
I posess excellent 'checkable' references!

During her time with us, Jay proved herself to be a very reliable, organised and caring nanny to our two boys. She arranged interesting and varied activities for my youngest to take part in whilst the older boy was at pre-school. She cooked tasty and nutritious food for them to eat and was always very organised with varied menus so that it was easy for me to have the right ingredients in the house. She kept the play areas and the children’s bedrooms tidy and organised. She was always very prompt to respond to any messages and was a good communicator.

Thank you very much Hannah for this lovely review ☺️ x
Jay looked after my 3 year old son for a week recently while our regular childminder was away.
An earlier review called her ‘Jay Poppins’ and that sums it up perfectly.
She quickly established a connection with him and put him at ease. She kept him busy and stimulated with activities she knew he’d enjoy incorporating simple but clever ways to encourage his development. We received regular updates throughout the day and it way a joy and comfort to see him have such fun. He really enjoyed his time with her.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jay. 5*

Thank you so much for the lovely review! 😊
Jay has been a very welcome addition to our household. Our children Eamon (4) and Orlaith (2) love her and so do we.
As an experienced nanny, Jay helped us to consider what she could do to help our family the most, understanding that there can not be a ‘one size fits all’ solution to childcare. Over that time, we regularly tweaked how it worked.
Jay said that a good nanny has the power to help every member of the family. A bold claim, but one she has absolutely delivered on. Early starts and late finishes can be part of every day working life. Jay offered stability to the household, picking up the slack when we needed her to and demonstrating flexibility.
She also helped with the children from a developmental point of view, creating games to help recognise letters and numbers and practice with writing.
Jay helped in a very practical sense: batch cooking for the freezer; helping with the family shopping; tidying up their bedroom and keeping on top of their laundry.
I’m not too sure who will miss Jay the most – me or the kids(!), but your childcare needs are always evolving and Orlaith needs to spend more time in the company of other children, so reluctantly, it’s time to say goodbye.
Jay has looked after our two daughters (1 and 2) on several occasions over the last year and been a godsend! She has a natural way with children - they instantly warm to her. She is super organised, going above and beyond what we would expect from a nanny. She not only manages to organise lots of fun activities for the girls, provides healthy balanced meals and also always leaves the house tidy. I really don’t know how she does it! She’s a modern day Mary Poppins who has quickly become part of the family.
Jay started her employment with us in November 2012 as a nanny for our two children, who were then just one and two and a half. She was employed to work two days per week between 9.00am and 6.00pm.
From the outset, we had complete confidence in Jay’s ability to provide a loving and nurturing environment for our children. She was very warm with the children on first meeting and they took to her immediately. Within a couple of weeks, both children were excited on Thursdays and Fridays when we told them that Jay was coming to look after them. Jay is always patient and kind with the children, whilst remaining in control, and they love her dearly. I know that they will be very sad not to be spending time with her on such a regular basis after the end of this month.
Apart from creating a loving and nurturing environment, Jay has also ensured that the children’s days are filled with stimulating activities which aid their development whilst they have fun. Before she started with us, we discussed with Jay the sort of things we would like her to do with the children; however Jay came with lots of ideas of her own, including a wide range of creative activities and age appropriate activities in the local area which the children might enjoy. We have always felt confident to allow Jay to make her own decisions about what the children do with her when she is looking after them, because there is such variety and they always enjoy themselves.
Jay is a great cook and prepares healthy and delicious meals for the children. She has been happy either to follow our instructions about what to cook, or is happy to improvise when we have forgotten. The children always eat well with her- yet another thing we have not had to worry about whilst they are in her care.
Finally, since starting with us, Jay has always been punctual and reliable. She has also been flexible about changing her hours to start a little earlier, if we had to get into work earlier for any reason. This has been a great help to both of us and much appreciated.
Jay has been a real asset to our family life over the past 14 months and we are going to be very sorry to lose her. The reason for the end of her employment is that I am starting maternity leave at the end of January. If it was financially viable to keep her on beyond that date, we would! We cannot recommend her highly enough.
