Lorna came to us when our little one was just a few months old. From the moment Lorna walked in, I knew all will be well!
Lorna helped place our daughter into a good sleep routine. As soon as Lorna would arrive, everyone felt at ease and she always offered warmth, support, guidance and reassurance- for a first time mum and dad this is invaluable.
Lorna is always available for a chat or consultation and offers words of wisdom for any problem that you may feel big or small. She has seen it all and so, has a solution for everything.
I would not hesitate to recommend Lorna to anyone although, I would like to keep her all to myself!!!
Lorna joined our family as maternity nanny when our son was 3 days old for the duration of 10 weeks. She was in sole charge of our son, set up the nursery and established a breastfeeding and sleeping routine that was workable for the entire family. She played a vital role in my quick and full recovery from the Caesarean, as she ensured that I took sufficient rest periods and followed a good diet.
Her extensive knowledge in baby and childcare proved invaluable on a daily basis. We were particularly impressed with Lorna’s flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to different situations.
Lorna has a strong intuition and ability to anticipate what is needed in certain situations, may it be to dissolve the tantrum of a 3-year old at teatime or a bad feed at 2 am in the morning. She was always willing to help out in the home and she is an excellent cook!
Lorna established a warm and caring relationship with every member of the family. She has a great sense of humour and is an easy person to have in the house as she has the ability to make herself invisible when private time is needed.
We have been extremely impressed with Lorna and would recommend her as nanny or maternity nanny without hesitation. She has since worked for us as a proxy parent and we have never had any issues and can be completely at ease when leaving our children in her care.
Lorna was with us for 8 weeks with our first child. She was immediately reassuring and warm. She has a lovely character, which is really important when having other people in the house is a new experience for new parents. She gives gentle advice, listens to the new mum, and helps identify problems and sorts out solutions. She solved our baby's nappy rash and got her back breastfeeding when she had serious nipple confusion. She bonded strongly with our daughter and our daughter loved being around her. I trusted her totally, and when my dad became ill and I had to fly away for a week to take care of him, I trusted her totally with sole charge of our daughter. In addition, she gave us great advice not only about childcare, but schooling, finances for the child, and a wide range of topics- big help! Would recommend her very strongly, particularly for first time parents who need that comforting support.

I took over after there first maternity nurse finished her two weeks booking.
And baby A was two weeks old
We had some slight problems when i started with feeding and a sore bottom but within a few days this was all sorted .
I was booked for 4 weeks and ask to exstend my booking by another 4 weeks which i was happy to do so.
I moved home with them and have done two proxy -parent with the baby once at 6 weeks the other at 8 weeks.
I had a very enjoyable time caring for little miss A, very easy baby with great parents.
im sure we shall, like most of my other families keep in contacted and i shall be more than happy to return when babies number 2/3/4 ! come along.
Lorna helped us at the last minute when we were looking for a night nanny, and then again after that. She is very reliable, extremely professional and is a natural with babies - and children for that matter.
It took her less than one minute to guess our son's wind and reflux issues as well as his favorite position and she bonded with him straight away. I trusted her very quickly, though did check some of her many references myself, as you should do - they checked out.
She is very neat and tidy, which is reassuring from a hygiene standpoint.
Warm and friendly, I would like to add that Lorna is very reassuring for new moms and that is definitely a plus.
I hope this review will help some new parents!
