I am a mother to three lovely sons. I work alongside my husband who previously worked in a special needs school. This enables us to look after six children which makes the perfect size group for the children to develop in and learn to form good friendships.
I have worked in a local nursery, and offered voluntary help at my sons primary school they attended some years ago. However I feel the best experience I have has been raising my own children.
Working as a childminder since 2012, I have cared for several of these children since they were 10 months of age, through to them going to school, and now looking after their younger siblings. We attend two local toddler groups in the area, giving the children the opportunity to socialise with others in a larger group. We feel we offer our minded children a lovely enviroment, a spacious playroom, a quiet room for looking at books and rest times and a great outdoor space with large paved area for using ride on toys, bikes etc and fully enclosed garden where we have a bouncy castle, see saw playhouse and lots more!!. We also like planning indoor activities like painting, using playdough and some simple cooking activities such as making home made pizza and bread.

We couldn't be happier with the care given to our two sons by Dimi and Maria. When we needed a childminder for our second child we were so happy to know that he'd experience the same high level of care, in the same loving family environment as his elder brother. Now six, that elder brother is always keen to spend time at Dimi and Maria's during the school holidays. And the younger brother longed to go back to Dimi and Maria's in his first days at nursery!
The kids always have so much fun, eat well and are always happy to be dropped off each day. They go to different groups so there's plenty of variety of activity, and there's plenty of room in the house (and large garden) for the kids to play. At group, they can start to mix with a larger number of chilidren, and with six children in the home, in any case, I think the transition to nursery (and even more children) is made that bit easier.
Dimi and Maria are always flexible and helpful. Maria went above and beyond for me recently by writing out recipes for me (because my son eats so much better at their house than at mine!) and we always get a full report of what the children have been up to.
Would recommend them without hestitation.
Maria and Dimi are a brilliant team! They first started looking after our son when he was about 17 months old. His first childminder was changing jobs and she didn't give us a lot of notice. Our son had been with her from 12months and had settled in well. I was really worried about a change at this age but I shouldn't have been. Maria and Dimi were very accommodating with regards to arranging settling in meetings/times and the transition went very smoothly.
My son is now 6 years old and sometimes still gets looked after by Maria and Dimi during half terms. He still loves it there.
Maria and Dimi have also been looking after our daughter since she was 12months old. When she went for a settling in time she cried as I left her but Maria very kindly sent me a photo of my little girl very happily playing with Dimi. (This was within a couple of minutes of me leaving her) It just shows their caring nature.
As they're a husband and wife team the setting feels very much like a home away from home. Their house is clean, light and spacious! Their garden is lovely and my kids love playing in it. The trampoline, ride on vehicles, bikes... They also love going to group. They've made some really good friends in the setting. As there are children from a good range of ages it helps them to learn from each other.
Maria and Dimi are very good at getting to know their minded children. They know their likes/dislikes, strengths/weaknesses and they really encourage their development. The children have a diary that Maria or Dimi fill in every time they've been which is great for getting an idea of what they've been up to. The kids love the food and always eat well when they're there. The other thing that's always amazed me is how they managed to get the kids to nap without any problems where at home I would often struggle...
I have nothing but praise for these childminders and would highly recommend them!
Our daughter has been going to Maria since her first birthday. We were particularly interested in the husband and wife team and it shows its merit every day. Our little girl is excited to see them every morning and comes home jabbering about all the things they have done during the day. She has easily formed sweet little friendships with the other kiddies, and seeing how Dimi and Maria interact with the other children is heartwarming, when you realise this is their nature and not just a show when the door is open. We have met their sons on the odd occasion and they are very respectful, kind, caring and friendly individuals, which just shows their values are genuine.
The place setting is very homely with a fantastic, large garden and lots of activities, as well as trips to two local playgroups twice a week. All learning is encouraged and time for cuddles is made essential.
Both Maria and Dimi take an interest in the children as individuals and report back verbally, as well as in a daily diary. They have always been flexible and open to questions or suggestions. If we had to find a fault it would only be that we know one day we will have to say our goodbyes as our daughter moves to school, but even then, there will be lasting memories and a long lasting friendship.
We cannot recommend Maria and Dimi highly enough.
Our daughter Robyn has been going to Maria and Dimi for nearly 2 years now, she started age 1 when maternity leave was finished. Naturally we were both worried about how she would settle in, but Maria and Dimi put us at ease straight away. She took to Maria and Dimi very quickly, and soon enough she was and still is excited to go there for the day.
The facilities at Maria and Dimi's are excellent. There is plenty of space inside and out, lots of different types of toys and it also very clean. Maria and Dimi do lots of different activities with the children, including going to groups, arts and crafts, reading and singing. Robyn always comes home telling us what she's been up to, and quite often she has some artwork to bring home.
I think it's a real benefit that Maria and Dimi are both childminders together. It giver our daughter a good balance of care when she is there. It also means they can look after more children, which is great as the children have more friends to play with. I would recommend these guys to anyone, and we will definitely be sending our next child there.
Maria and her husband Dimi have looked after 2 of our children over the last 4 years (now 5 year old boy and 2 year old girl). And plan to send our youngest (currently 3 months old) when I return to work! Our older children are jealous when the babies go to Dimi and Maria's.
I highly recommend them, without reservation. They provide outstanding care in a safe and clean environment. They work beautifully as a team and have never let us down. With both my husband and I working, this is really important to us.
We first sent our son there after we'd had a bad start with another childminder, and they worked with us to help reassure us that they were taking great care of our little boy. They sent pictures of him having fun and settled him in gently over several days, at the pace we were comfortable with. When it was time for our daughter to go to them, she'd never spent any time away from family before. She transitioned to staying with them beautifully, because Maria and Dimi both worked to make her feel safe and loved. They cuddled her to sleep (as thats what she was used to) and that made a big difference to her enjoying her time there. They have both gone above and beyond the call of duty for us when we've had family or work emergencies. I trust them with our children gladly and feel so lucky to have them in our children's lives. Our son who is now in school still speaks fondly of his time there, especially with Dimi.
The house is always well kept, but full of toys and learning material. The food they provide is great and the kids never come home hungry!
Communication with them is clear and easy. They answer texts, calls and emails promptly. They charge fairly and are clear with billing.
We've also had Maria babysit for us in our home, arriving just before bedtime. She managed to get all 3 kids (7,5 and 2) to bed on time and happily! When we asked the children in the morning how it went, they said they'd wished she could come earlier to play more!
