About Me

Hi my name is Susan Yates. I am a mother of 3 Adult children whom have all grown up, left home and have children of their own. I have been an Ofsted registered child minder with a (GOOD) grade for 13 years. I love my job as it is so rewarding, seeing the children in my care learn and develop as the play and have fun while making friends. Supporting the parents by helping them to feel confident in leaving their little ones while they return to work.

I am a fun, loving, caring, honest, approachable and nurturing person. I love spending time with children and I sometimes have my grandchildren at the weekends, taking them out and watching them grow and develop into wonderful young people. .

I have a great selection of age appropriate toys. A huge selection of books, painting and crafts. I have a lovely garden filled with flowers. I grow my own vegetables and some fruit. The children love to be outside learning about the great outdoors weather it is looking for bugs and watching wild birds, splashing in puddles or playing in sand or with compost. I have a variety of outdoor toys and resources including a sand pit, water play, ball pit, slide, pop-up tents where children can look at books or roll around on coushions.

There are a few drop in centres which I take the children to. These hold some lovely activities for children where they will have the chance to meet and play with other children of their own age.

Ruskin park is about a 10 min walk away and there are lots of other parks such as Dulwich, Peckham and Burgess park to name but a few. There is also a wildlife centre around the corner from me, the children love exploring the pond for Tadpoles.

All my training is up to date and i have all certificates in my folder at home for you to see.

The P13 bus stop is next to my house. East dulwich train station is a 5 minutes walk and Peckham Rye and Denmark Hill Train station is a 10 minute walk.

My daughter will be joining me as my assistant from January 2026. Therefore we will have the support of one another and the maximum of 6 children in our care.
