Less reliable for us
We had booked Jo for three days as ad-hoc nanny to look after our 5 month old baby together with myself (mum) to allow me some time to work from home. However, few days prior to the session she informed us that unfortunately she had double booked herself and also needed to look after a 10 year old niece and that she had made plans to visit a castle with her nanny friends. I explained that we would like solo care of our daughter and traveling miles away from home with my baby on first session is not something I would be happy with. She cancelled the session with us which left us without childcare for that day. Some days later I asked for confirmation that the other days are still going ahead (to avoid additional last minute cancellations) and emphasised that given we have booked her for an evening I would prefer that she looks after our daughter at home, given she is only 5 months and is Jo's first shift with us. Also this time she cancelled the sessions with us for both August and September, reporting that sadly a family member had recently passed away. For me as a parent the main concern was the insisting that she could not look after my child at home despite being a 5 month old baby that is breastfed, and also several cancellations made it hard for us with regards to our work planning.
