We first met Helen in 2019 when she started doing wrap around care for our eldest daughter who was then in year 1 at Plumcroft primary school. Helen came highly recommended and from the very start, we had no questions as to why. Helen takes her roles a responsibilities very seriously and has so much experience that she is able to offer advice and support in the area of child development and always goes above and beyond. This became even more the case when our second daughter was a year old and started with Helen. She was born with unexpected complex medical and developmental needs and Helen was prepared to engage with clinicians and professionals to manage day to day medical procedures without question and enabled us to continue to work and to have the space to come to terms with, and manage, our new world of parenting a child with SEND. Helen has continued to challenge and champion our little pocket rocket and is very much part of the ‘team’. Our daughter benefits from Helen’s nurture and uncompromising commitment to supporting her development, and she also benefits from the inclusive environment where care, respect and equality are embedded with all of the children in Helen’s care. We don’t know where we’d be without having Helen, a person we can trust and rely on which is particularly hard for parents like us with a child who is potentially quite vulnerable.
