My name is Lauren, i am 26 years old and have worked in childcare since completing my Diploma in Childcare and Education in 2007. I am currently studying for a degree in child nursing at Canterbury Christchurch University. I am extremely passionate about caring for children and feel it is my 'call' in life to look after them. I am enthusiastic and fun and love getting messy painting and making things!
I am extremely trustworthy and reliable and it is of up most importantce that your child is safe whislt in my care.I have experience caring for children from new born infants to 14 years in a range of settings and job roles. I have previous experience as a nanny and have also worked in nursery settings where I was a deputy manager.
I have worked in Switzerland for 6 months running a small nursery in a hotel with Esprit Holidays Ltd. The nursery could have up to 10 children aged 6 months to 3 years.
I was promoted to Senior Nursery Nurse in a 2-3 years room where i had sole charge of up to 23 children when the head of room was absent. I was responsible for creating exciting and simulating activities both inside and outside, arranging trips outside of the nursery and general care of the children.
I have worked as a sole care Nanny. The girls were 4 and 6 but worked for the family for 3 years, I sadly was no longer needed as their mother managed to work more flexible hours but still stay in close contact. I organised stimulating activities and days out and meeting up with peers, As well as preparation of all meals and taking them too and from school and after school clubs.
I then worked with a beautiful family with four children. One newborn, a two year old, a five year old and a 7 year old. I worked as mothers help and gained a wonderful relationship with all in the family. I organised fun and stimulating activities that where appropriate for all the age types. I also helped with the morning madness and bedtime routine. I worked with the family for 9 months but the family relocated to Cornwall.
I then found a fabulous job at Little oaks Nursery in Canterbury. I worked as a room leader for children aged 2 to 3 and a half. I was responsible for 5 members of staff and a room of 26 children. I was then promoted to Deputy manager and worked closely with the manager and took on the role as SENCo I worked closely with a child with autism and another child with a physical disability. I thoroughly enjoyed working at the nursery for three years and have met some amazing families. I left in September 2016 to start an exciting journey to become a paediatric nurse.
