PracticallyPerfect ... (like Mary Poppins!)
Fully Qualified, Mature, Experienced, Trustworthy, Competent, Fun, Firm, Residentially trained Chiltern Nanny available for 'Now & Again' childcare
My early interest in Childcare started when my mother fostered babies & toddlers when I was young and this inspired me to go on to a 2 year residential course at Chiltern Nursery Training College in Caversham, Reading when I was 18, gaining my NNEB qualification and Diploma RSH
I have been a Nanny (numerous times), Mum, Childminder, Cleaner, Carer, Florist, Sandwich Caterer, Stationery Shop Manager, Print Finisher, Carer in the Community, Nanny/Housekeeper
Both my sons had special educational needs - Dyslexia, possibly Asperger's and were statemented
I have had dealings with multi-births and the physically and mentally handicapped
I used to be part of the National Childbirth Trust, hosting coffee mornings and did a lot of charity work to raise funds for them and other child related ventures around the area
I started my self-employed business with part-time hours for two families in 2014, ending up full-time for me and also included evening babysitting
One day time job ended at the end May'15, but I have done many babysitting sessions there since
The other part-time job became more frequent in hours after their 2nd baby arrived in June '15 and I continued to work many other evening and day time positions too, in Maidenhead, Cookham and Beaconsfield
My main job ceased in May 2018, when mum took over the children's care, but I still had four other regular families I was working for
I have excellent references - recent ones and some going all the way back to college days = 40+ years!
In the evenings/weekends, I volunteer with my husband for 'local to our home' emergency wildlife rescues for Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital, near Aylesbury. I also enjoy computer work and photography
I have a clean, fully comprehensive car insurance with business use, been driving since I was 18, with zero points throughout and I drive an automatic 7 seater car
Due to Medication complications which were causing painful feet, I had to take a break from childcare/all work in July '18 to rest up
Whilst convalescing, I completed a Two Day Adult Mental Health First Aider Course, as I wanted to make sure I was well equipped with this growing problem in our society
In July '18, I had to give up 4 part-time/odd time jobs, all of whom have been one wanting me to return to their families, since I returned to work in February '19
Sadly, one day job is too much walking for me to return to, another now has mum working locally around school hours, but I have however returned to my Two 'Nanny Share' families for early morning school routines in two different houses with two different school drop offs
I am now ready to find some more part-time, ad-hoc childcare positions, but with safety in mind.
I have no trouble walking a short way, but I don't 'go for walk' and I can not stand for long without needing to sit - Hence, I am choosing where I work carefully, but I still need to earn a living
For a limited time, I am also prepared to offer free smear-test childcare, as long as my travel costs are met - Please ask me for more information
Please do not hesitate to ask for a meet up with you, to view my CV and for us to get acquainted.
I always like to meet families with their children before taking on work, so if you like what you see, I'm only a call away the next time you need childcare
In Nov'12 and now into my ‘50s, I went back to nannying, having had an eleven year break to pursue different things
I absolutely love being back with babies and children
Since Nov '12, I had various babysitting jobs (children aged 20 months - 7yrs) whilst I refreshed my First Aid Certificate and applied with Ofsted
I was a daily nanny/housekeeper for a family with two children 8 and just 5 from Jan'13 - mid April'13. Sadly, Dad was made redundant and so was I
I then did emergency daily nanny jobs for an agency and privately until starting a full time job Mon - Fri on June 5th '13 - 2 boys, nearly 6 and nearly 2 :) - sadly, due to 3 serious illnesses / bereavements in my family, I had to leave my job suddenly in June '14 (a year later)
At the end of Aug '14, I went self employed and started my 'Now and Again' Childcare venture...to allow families to have a nanny for a few hours, rather than full days
My first two jobs (boy of 14 months) + (boy of 2+ and girl 6 months) filled my Mon-Fri days, until the 2nd job stopped at the end of May'15. The 1st job then became my main job with the addition of their second child, but I also had another family I worked for when they knew I was not with my main job
Babysitting jobs up to July'18 were for ages 14 & 7, 2, 3 & 18months, 2+ & 5months, 6 & nearly 4 (& extra 6 & 2), 8 & 6, 4 & 12months
In September, I will be nannying for a total of 8 families .... just 2-3 hrs at a time, various times and days.
Ages of my charges are 9,9,7,6,6,6,5,5,4,4, 2.5 years & 6 months - Luckily not all at the same time!

Caroline has been nannying and babysitting for us over the last year and we’ve had a great experience. She is organised, punctual and great with children. She brings her own games and is great at finding various activities to keep the kids entertained. She has been very flexible helping us out last minute when required. Overall we would highly recommend Caroline.
We interviewed Caroline to took care of my son occasionally when we needed to go out child free. We knew she was the one when we met her. She’s punctual and made it a very pleasant experience for my son by bringing lots of activities to do while we were out. We felt totally comfortable leaving him with her and he doesn’t normally warm up to anyone but surprisingly very comfortable with her. We are very sad that we lost her due to us relocating but believe me when I say you won’t regret hiring her. She’s the best.
An amazing child minder. It was the first time we were going to leave our 7 month old son with a child minder. She put our son at ease kept us updated with what was going on with him to put us at ease as well.
We over ran with our timings & she was OK with overstaying for a bit more time.
Checked all her certificates & references, which were all up to date.
Don't go for cheap, book her...
There's not much you can tell Caroline about children she doesn't know and hasn't seen. She's unflappable and takes it all in her stride. She will hit the ground running no matter what state you're in whilst trying to leave and calmly takes over. My children love her and look forward to her visits so no guilt trips for leaving them at home! Caroline always brings a little toy or book or plays a game with them. All is peace and order when we return. Highly recommended.
Caroline has been working for us as a part-time nanny/housekeeper for a couple of months now. I interviewed quite a few people but Caroline was the best fit because she showed such an instant rapport with the children, and it was quite obvious from the word go that she knew exactly what she was doing. Caroline is a pleasure to have around and is very proactive and helpful around the house. I trust her implicitly with both our children (8 month and 2 ½) and don’t worry at all when I leave. I wouldn’t hesitate at all to recommend her.
