OUR LITTLE HOUSE OF FUN
Learning to play...playing to learn!
Welcome to 'Our Little House of Fun'
THIS IS WHERE THE MAGIC BEGINS.....
A childcare service run by Jacqueline Brown-Hicks
Jackie has been childminding since 1994; in 2013 her husband joined the service and in 2015, their daughter, Molly also joined the service. Between them they make a formidable childminding team to enhance the running of their child centred childminding service. The emphasis is on having fun, learning and being valued, loved and respected. We work with you, the parent, to inspire your child to realise their potential. Jackie, JJ and Molly work together to do lots of fun and exciting experiences and are passionate about providing good quality childcare to be proud of.

As a mother of 3 young adults and a childminder with nearly 20 years experience - what I have learned is that children want to have fun - but they can learn and experience things first hand by making everything fun to do. Lots of laughter comes from our home and having new experiences at the same time is an added bonus!!
We go to toddlers, library, local parks, feed the horses, music classes, dance classes, Arts and Crafts, free play, gardening and growing things, Wiggles and Giggles classes, adventure play areas. The children attend gymnastics classes; we go to the beach and woodland walks. We visit farms and learn about the animals and go to Vane Farm Nature Reserve Toddlers Group to learn about the outdoors.
In the school holidays when we have more time we go to the Safari Park, barbeque on the the beach; M & D's at Strathclyde; Botanical Gardens; Sensations Science Centre in Dundee; boat trips on the Maid of the Forth...the experiences and fun we have are endless...
Molly also does dance workshops with the children in the holidays.
We live next to the woods - so the adventures in the woods are endless and fun. We have built a small obstacle course in the woods where the children can exercise and be active outdoors and also a tree swing.
We have attended an Outdoor Play training course - where we learnt some new skills and ideas to do with the children that we can use in the woods next to us - so the first thing the children wanted to do was build a campfire and eat home made pizzas (that they had made themselves) round the campfire.
Indoors - we have a dedicated playroom for the children to do activities in; an Arts and Crafts Room and a sleeping room for the little ones to have their naps or for older children to have some chill time to themselves.
We have been on numerous training courses, too many to detail, but we have them all in a folder for anyone to peruse over should you wish to visit. Every course we have been on is to make sure your child is well looked after, loved and cared for and is at the centre of everything I do.
Molly is attending a college course - Early Education and Childcare and in September goes on to the next course - Early Education and Childcare HNC
