I cannot recommend Mini Moon's home nursery highly enough. We had looked for a nursery for our 9 month old but waiting lists were so long we turned to a childminder and I dont know why we weren't looking for a childminder to begin with. At her young age it felt so much easier for our daughter to settle into a family home setting rather than a nursery. It made sense that she immediately seemed to feel comfortable, and to receive lots of focus and attention, with two adults in their own home 'in loco parentis', rather than a larger more chaotic traditional nursery. Sam and Billy are not only naturally good with children but well educated in and at the cutting edge of best practices for early years education. Mini Moon's might be small in terms of number of children but it is incredibly ambitious in its aims and curriculum. And that is translated into success because they are repeatedly *nationally* recognised as some of the best providers of early years play-based education in the country. Sam cares so much about the service they provide and what is best for the children in her care. It is clearly her passion. She is also completely approachable and flexible where possible. They have a charming playroom for the children; intentionally designed and incredibly well stocked in everything from toys to craft supplies, with child-led play at the centre of everything they do. They have an amazing garden which the children spend lots of time in growing plants and even butterflies each year. They go on regular outings where even young children are included and given appropriate responsibilities. The meals are all prepared at home and my daughter usually demands second or third helpings every single meal. My daughter started with Sam and Billy when she was 9.5 months old and is absolutely thriving there at 15 months now. I have never experienced tears at drop off or pick up, which makes sense because she loves going there. My daughter has to move elsewhere now due primarily to my working hours changing and I'm heartbroken over it. If she could continue until school age I would think there is no better place for her.
