Amazing

We have been so lucky to have Fernanda as our daughters childminder. Fernanda looked after our daughter from 14 months to 21 months and she thrived in the 7 months that she was with Fernanda.

Fernanda and her family are so welcoming, kind, nurturing and her setting was a true home from home. We did not have any worries leaving our daughter with Fernanda and would recommend Fernanda to everyone and anyone. She provides nutritious meals, fun activities and many additional extras that she does without thought.

Our daughter loved going to Fernanda's and after the initial settling in period would happily walk/run in without looking back at us to say goodbye, she would literally run in to Fernanda's house to see Fernanda and her family. Fantastic service and can't speak highly enough about the childcare provisions, development, and genuine care that she received.

Finally the little dog Sushi is so cute and amazing with children, our daughter loved playing with Sushi and still walks around with a toy dog under her arm referring to Sushi.

In only 7 months the impact Fernanda and her family had on our little daughter is astonishing. I am so sad that Fernanda moved to Peterborough, London's loss is Peterborough's gain.

Fantastic childminder

I knew immediately when I visited Fernanda for the first time that my daughter would be happy with her and her family, and she really was! She went to Fernanda’s for over 2 years (ages 1-3) and it was best childcare decision I could have made at this important time in her (and our!) life. She was safe and loved and made great friends and had so much fun-she often didn’t want to leave at the end of the day! 2 years later she still talks about her and how she misses going there. We are very sad to see the family leave the area but will stay in touch. Highly recommend Fernanda and her lovely family to anyone looking for a warm and wonderful childminder, and happy to answer any questions / provide a reference.

Outstanding childminder

My son (5) and daughter (8) have been going to Fernanda’s setting for the last year after school. Fernanda is an absolute gem - she is calm, loving, kind, generous and inclusive. Her family are also amazing. My son loves Fernanda’s mother in law and husband. The thing that struck me about Fernanda’s setting from day one was how calm it is and how happy the kids are. Fernanda is very creative and we have had some super Easter, Christmas, mother/ Father’s Day crafted gifts that we adore and will reuse. Fernanda has lots of great toys as well as supervised water play in the hotter months. It is great to see kids of all ages playing together and being kind and supportive to each other - this is very much fostered by Fernanda. I would be happy to act as a reference for Fernanda if you were considering her a childminder. We will miss you guys loads Fernanda and family xxx

Children are made to feel part of the family

Fernanda looked after my 11 month ok’d and my 2 year old until late 2013. During that time my boys were made part of the family. They were taken care of by everyone in the family. Fernanda’s calm, patient and fair approach to child minding meant that her similarly aged children grew up as friends of our boys. They had great fun in her clean, child friendly setting, which she constantly updates and rearranged to create new exploration opportunities.
During their time with Fernanda they were happy, well fed, sage and thriving.
Anyone who gets Fernanda to take care of their children can ensure their child’s early years development will be secure in her care.

Fantastic Childminder

Fernanda has taken care of my youngest daughter for a year and a half now since she was just under a year old. My eldest daughter who is 6 has also spent time with Fernanda over the school holidays.

Fernanda has built up lovely relationships with my daughters and is always happy, enthusiastic and patient with them. The children light up in the morning when they arrive. Even at 11 months old my daughter was happy and settled and was never upset at drop off time. My older daughter is always asking if she can spend the day with her.

The children spend time having fun and developing creative skills with lots of crafts. There are plenty of toys and resources for them to play with. They celebrate holidays and events together and have seasonal activities like water play and a paddling pool in the summer. They go on trips to local playgrounds and skate parks.

Fernanda's home is clean and well organised. She provides homecooked fresh food.

Fernanda's family are lovely, inclusive and obviously enjoy being around the children. There is a genuine family atmosphere. My children are very happy and excited to see them, especially Antonella 8 years old, who loves the younger children and is very kind and nurturing.

We feel incredibly lucky to have had Fernanda looking after our daughters and she will be greatly missed. If she wasn't moving from our area we would have continued with her at least until my younger daughter went to school.

Home from home for your kids

Fernanda has been looking after all my children now aged 1,3 and 4 since my youngest was 11 months and we are devastated that she is leaving. We think of Fernanda and her lovely family as an extension of our own family. My children called her mother in law ‘Vovo’ (portugese for grandma) and think of her children has big brother and sister.

If you want a loving, warm, welcoming and flexible place for your child, look no further. Fernanda is intelligent, thoughtful, loves the children and cares for them like family. I have no hesitation in saying she has changed our lives and although we are happy for them finding a new home, we feel as though we are losing our ‘village’. She does lots of activities with the kids - arts and crafts, baking, trips out to the park - but most importantly by children are happy and loved.

My children now understand Portuguese and speak some, they love Brazilian food and culture (they still only eat dry pasta at home but at Fernanda’s they eat everything!). The children eat their meals family style round the table and I have always loved this approach to give them a feeling of being with extended family rather than ‘in childcare’.

Fernanda’s home is safe and clean, and always feels relaxed. I have no idea how she does it! I don’t think you could meet a kinder or more intelligent family. Anthonella (8) is the life and soul of the party and my daughter basically wants to be her when she grows up, Giuseppe (12) is gentle and loving with my sons and is an amazing role model for them, Bia (17) is smart, caring and responsible with the children. Fernanda’s husband Wendell is friendly and kind and makes amazing Brazilian food! He often takes and picks up my 4 year old to school and she has lots of fun with him.

Exceptional childminder

Our daughter has been looked after by Fernanda and her family since she was just one year old. She is now almost three and we are very sadly saying goodbye as we are relocating to Ireland.

From the first day we felt sure that Lara was in a safe, caring and welcoming environment. Fernanda, her husband Wendel, mother in law Vera and her two children Giuseppe and Anthonella welcomed Lara as though she was one of their family. Their house has felt like Lara's second home, where she has been very happy playing with the other children, enjoying lovely meals, taking part in the activities Fernanda organises, such as arts and crafts and baking, or enjoying trips to local playgrounds and softplay. Lara has come on so much since she started with Fernanda, she's now a curious and confidant little girl who loves to play with other children, explore the playground, sing songs and draw pictures. She can even now understand and speak a little Portuguese!

Fernanda has been brilliant in documenting Lara's time with her and sends us photos of the children regularly and provides online diary updates. Communication has been great, she has always been happy to discuss any concerns we might have or contact us by WhatsApp to let us know how Lara is doing that day.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Fernanda as a fantastic childminder, and would urge you to go and meet her if you are looking for childcare in the SE19 area.

Fantastic childminder

Fernanda childminded my daughter from the age of 15 months to 3 years (we left so she could experience a nursery setting before going to school). My daughter settled in really well there when she started, which was very reassuring to us, Fernanda clearly cares about the children she looks after and is affectionate with them which we really liked and the children respond well to. There is a real family atmosphere and Fernanda's husband and mother in law are lovely and great at looking after the children. Giuseppe and Anthonella, Fernanda's children, are lovely kids and all the children play together, when our daughter was younger they were really sweet with her and looked after her.

Fernanda is very accommodating and flexible when she can be, and the children do lots of fun activities like going to local playgroups and parks (my daughter also went to the Horniman Museum and Legoland) and doing arts and crafts/baking.

We were very sad to leave and I recommend Fernanda to anyone - she's an excellent, nurturing childminder!
