Ferdous looked after our son for almost 1.5 years, from age 13 months to 2.5 years. We moved to Scotland and so sadly had to say goodbye.
Our son R thrived in Ferdous' care and within the home from home setting. I looked at nurseries as felt such a social pressure that nurseries are best, but I am so pleased I trusted my new mum instincts. From the moment my partner and I met Ferdous and visited her home, we knew we had found something special, a safe and experienced pair of hands.
Ferdous is so respectful in her communication with the babies and toddlers, she always puts their needs first and she is so knowledgeable about child development, I learned a lot from her.
Our son learned so well too, in particular she supported and guided him in his social behaviour, he is so settled and plays so well with other children, we can't take credit for this as this comes from his time with Ferdous and her guidance.
Ferdous is an excellent communicator and highly organised, she runs her business so smoothly.
R was so happy in her care, always settled and calm at pick up and settled in quickly too. He talked about her and his little friends when he came home.
Ferdous also offered opportunities for indoor and outdoor play and community visits out daily.
As a new mum I was extremely nervous about returning to work, leaving my son in childcare. One thing I will always be thankful for is how Ferdous supported me and showed such understanding of my feelings and anxieties.
R ate so well at Ferdous' even when his appetite wasn't so good at home. Ferdous cooked nutritious meals daily.
Ferdous was also knowledgeable and observant around both child health issues and infection control.
If you are undecided between nursery and childminder, I can say that for our family, deciding to send R to Ferdous was the right decision and am so pleased R had such a steady attachment to Ferdous, assistants and her family, as this is more important than anything else, in my view.
Huge thank you Ferdous for all you have done for R and all the support you have our little family. We miss you so much!

Our daughter (1 1/2 years) has been looked after by Ferdous since June 2023 and we have had a wonderful experience. Ferdous is extremely friendly, an excellent communicator and her approach to the children is loving and mindful. She takes the children on outings every day, weather permitting, but is flexible in her approach and really puts the children's emotional and social wellbeing at the heart of everything. When our daughter struggled with one of the stay-and-plays, Ferdous adapted her schedule to a quieter activity that suited our daughter better, while also ensuring that the other children did not miss out on fun and play. She cooks the children a warm meal every lunch and provides snacks and water. Our daughter always talks about Ferdous and her friends there when we get home, so I know she has a wonderful time, is stimulated and has fun. Ferdous even offered to be sent a list of German words (we raise our child bilingual) to support us and be better able to communicate with our daughter. Would definitely recommend to anyone living in the area.

My son S started with Ferdous at the age of 8 months. We were with Ferdous for almost a year, until we moved to Australia. Ferdous was everything I was looking for in a childminder, she welcomed him as though he was part of her own family and S was always really excited to see her in the mornings.
As a first time mum, I was nervous about finding the right childcare, but Ferdous always put safety first and I quickly felt comfortable with S being in her care. I felt that she went above and beyond, taking time to talk to me at the end of the day, telling me stories about his day and even giving me guidance around things like sleep training and weening when I asked. All the assistants were very friendly and helpful too.
Ferdous provided healthy home made meals every day and took the children out to do nice local activities. On rainy days, there were always fun indoor activities such as messy play, art and singing. I enjoyed receiving photos and updates and if I ever had any questions Ferdous always took the time to respond to me quickly.
We are sad to be leaving as Ferdous really feels part of the family now and we will keep in touch in future. I can’t recommend enough, as a responsible, trustworthy and genuinly caring choice of childcare.

I first heard about Ferdous, while talking to another mother about how stressful it was to find a childminder. The mother told me, ‘if you want to find a really fantastic childminder, contact Ferdous in Dalston!’ I memorised her name and looked her up and went for an informal first visit and was so glad I did!
Ferdous is warm and friendly and certainly loves children! She is very approachable and we felt able to discuss any matters. My son progressed well developmentally. He was originally a bit behind in his milestones and wasn’t able to crawl when he arrived at 13 months, but by 14 months, with her help, he started crawling and then he pulled to stand and eventually started walking. Ferdous gave us the confidence to follow on with various activities to promote his development at home. She did different activities both at home and at local drop ins, libraries and play areas.
Ferdous was always available when picking up, to give a personal report every day about how his day was, what he had to eat, how long he slept and how his bowels have worked etc. She also sent pictures, with our permission, of him doing various activities. She was always happy to have contact out of service hours for advice or discussion over the phone or by text which felt supportive. She was very encouraging and positive about my son and especially at the time when we felt frustrated by what we felt was ‘slow development’ compared to his peers of a similar age.
Ferdous had a very good large playroom with safe softer flooring and we liked it because it felt safe for my son who was a bit slow in his development. Ferdous had established regular assistants, whom we were able to meet, and my son was secure with them. We were also able to arrange our own food which was a particular requirement we had and therefore my son was able to have home-cooked food. She had a safe medication management policy was able to manage him at her service on the last few days of his prescribed antibiotic once he was well enough to attend her service again.
Ferdous is very health and safety conscious, as she always had her stair gates locked and watched the behaviour of the children to ensure they don’t hurt each other inadvertently. When sunny he has a sun hat outside and suncream. She was also very observant as she always informed us if noticed any change in behaviour or his skin such as pink eyes or rashes. He was always very clean and never had nappy rashes that developed in her care.
We were extremely happy with the service that Ferdous provided in the 2 years we used her service and we feel confident recommending her highly. She is an established and experienced childminder and her environment is clean, safe, emotionally warm and stimulating.

Ferdous has been looking after my now 19m old daughter since she was 14months and we couldn't be happier with the care she has received there.
Ferdous is a loving childminder who cares deeply for the children she looks after. She is extremely competent, diligent, hard working - all aspects of her care for our daughter have been to an immaculate standard. Ferdous pays attention to everything our daughter does, picking up on subtle developmental changes as well as responding beautifully to emotional cues.
Ferdous is flexible and an excellent communicator, she is always considerate and understanding of the challenges and demands of our own lives. Ferdous feels part of our family now, our daughter talks about her and her assistant Jana with adoration on her days off. We feel so lucky to have found her and would recommend her and her childcare setting without hesitation. A

I can't speak highly enough of Ferdous. She looked after our son from when he was about 11 months to when he was around 26 months, and went above and beyond for our son and for us as parents. She was so caring and nurturing and formed a great bond with B. She was incredibly supportive, particularly if we were having a tough time, or were struggling with sleep or illness, and always seemed to know the right thing to say to help us practically or make us feel better! Communication was always above and beyond.
B developed so much with her and loved the time he spent with her and the other toddlers - particularly water play, mark making, play-dough and going to the playground. He always seems to eat really well at Ferdous's!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ferdous, and am so grateful for the help and support we've had over a tough year.
