Bamford Academy is an academy converter school in Rochdale. According to the latest government data, it has approximately 306 pupils and allows entry for children aged 4-11.
About Us
Here at Bamford Academy, we recognise and respect the uniqueness of each child. Our creative curriculum skilfully weaves artistic and practical disciplines into everyday activities. Students learn to follow their curiosity, to think creatively, and to work both independently and cooperatively with others. We pique a child’s curiosity and nurture and encourage their innate gifts, while instilling in them a sense of adventure and a hunger for challenge.
In addition to comprehensive language arts, maths, science, and social studies, each student accesses Spanish, technology, vocal and instrumental music, speech and drama, and art. The school also provides a complete physical education programme, as well as after-school clubs and competitive team sports.
Through project-based learning, students tackle a challenging academic curriculum in ways that are engaging, meaningful, adaptable to a variety of learning styles, and fun. Our award winning curriculum is tied to Government educational standards and our results are consistently amongst the highest in the region.

Our Childcare Provision
We provide a fun-filled before and after school club called Peacocks. Our Peacocks before school club is available from 7.30am, which includes breakfast, and Peacocks after school club is available from 3pm until 6pm, which also includes a light tea.
All Peacocks staff are fully qualified and DBS checked and provide a variety of different indoor and outdoor activities, suitable for all ages. At Peacocks before and after school club, children are encouraged to explore their own talents, gifts and interests in a safe, caring and vibrant environment. Our staff are highly trained and experienced in the areas of child development and can design a bespoke experience which will allow your child to grow and develop on their own journey.
Peacocks is only available to children that attend Bamford Academy, however, we also run holiday clubs during every half term holiday that are available to ALL children aged between 4 and 12 years.
