About Us
Colneis Junior School and Fairfield Infant School formed the Federation of Fairfield and Colneis in January 2015.
Colneis Junior School is a three form entry school which provides education for an average of 350 children aged 7 to 11 years.
The school was built in the 1960’s and provides accommodation for pupils in year groups that are accessed from the main hall. Outdoor facilities include a playing field, wildlife area and a Jubilee garden area with play equipment and hard play areas. The indoor, heated swimming pool is used weekly by all pupils too.
Colneis Junior School is proud of its friendly atmosphere and caring attitude. They challenge pupils with a broad and creative curriculum planned to motivate and inspire their pupils while also meeting the appropriate statutory requirements. They also provide many opportunities for extracurricular activities such as sporting and drama activities. Children make more than expected progress and on average attain a level higher than the national average.
Ofsted recognised the many strengths of the school when it was inspected in Spring 2012 and graded as ‘Good’.
Our Childcare Provision
A breakfast club is available for all parents to access for pupils from both schools. It is operated from the Fairfield Infant School site and a walking bus is organised each day for the Colneis pupils. It is run by trained staff, five days a week, from 8am-9am at a cost of £3.75 per day. A choice of healthy, breakfast food is available each day.
