About Us
Gorsemoor Primary school caters for children between the ages of 3-11 and is situated on a large housing estate in Heath Hayes on the outskirts of Cannock in Staffordshire. It is only 2 miles from Cannock Chase, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a large primary school with currently over 570 children on role. It has it's own nursery which runs two sessions during the day. Each session has places for 26 children. Morning Nursery runs from 9am until 12 noon and Afternoon Nursery runs from 12.30 pm until 3.30 pm. The school has achieved Healthy Schools and Eco status, Basic Skill Quality Mark, Dyslexia Friendly, Activemark Gold, Artsmark, BECTA ICT and International Schools Awards.
Our Childcare Provision
Gorsemoor Primary School organises it's own breakfast club which runs from 8.20am until 8.50 am in the school dining room. The cost of this is £1.50 which is payable daily. Children are able to choose two of the following breakfast items: toast, cereal, fruit or yoghurt. A drink of tea, juice or milk is also included. Children then go straight into class ready for the start of the school day. Our younger Early Years children are escorted to their Reception or Nursery classroom.
A private after school club and breakfast care is also run on the school premises by Farlea Childcare. The proprietor Annie Mahoney and Manager Amelia Clarke not only cater for children from Gorsemoor Primary School but also for Five Ways Primary School which is nearby. Breakfast Club operates from 7.30 to 8.50 am. Children who attend Gorsemoor are then taken to the playground by Farlea staff ready for the start of the school day. However, once again, our younger Early Years children are escorted to their Reception or Nursery classroom. After School Club runs from 3.30pm until 6pm. Prices vary according to drop off times, sessions booked, regular use or odd sessions and holiday care requirements.

Gorsemoor Primary School also organise a lunch club for Nursery children. This runs from 12 noon until 12.30 and costs £2.50 per session. Children bring their own lunch to eat and are supervised by Nursery staff. In addition, we also have close links with one of the nearby nurseries for those children who need longer day care. Some of our nursery children attend the morning session at St. John's Nursery in Heath Hayes before being collected by Gorsemoor staff to have lunch at Gorsemoor Nursery. They then attend the afternoon nursery session at Gorsemoor School.
