About Us

Hailey School is a small, friendly Church of England school set in large grounds with a family atmosphere, which is upheld by a dedicated staff team who put the interests of the individual child at the centre of everything they do. Our Nursery and Reception class provides a perfect transition for children to enter more formal schooling. Our children have the chance to learn through structured play, with individual assessment of learning needs.
All our 3, 4 and 5 year olds are taught by an experienced, qualified teacher supported by experienced keyworkers. Activities are developed according to the child’s stage of development, and not simply their age, and children benefit from a wide range of school resources.
We have a large outdoor area with lots of play equipment and we even have our own woodland! School lunches are home-cooked on the premises with locally sourced food. Our recent Ofsted Report judged the school to be Good and our recent Church of England SIAMS Inspection judged our school to be Outstanding. Both reports highlighted our excellent quality of provision and nurturing environment:
"Pupils in the early years benefit from the well-structured learning environment and extensive school facilities."
"Pupils are proud to be members of the school and confidently state that learning at Hailey C of E Primary School is fun!" Ofsted Inspection Report, January 2016.
"Hailey C of E Primary School is a small school with a big heart."
"Love, tolerance and respect are at the heart of this school resulting in happy, successful children with a strong sense of self worth." Church of England SIAMS Report, April 2016

Our Childcare Provision

Normal school hours are from 8.50 until 3.15 pm but we offer extended childcare provision from 8.00 until 5.15 pm.
Our Earlybirds Club opens from 8.00 until school starts and costs £2.50 if booked in advance.
We also run a range of After-School clubs from 3.15 until 5.15 pm at a cost of £3.50 per hour. Please visit us or see our website for details.
Our children love coming to school and value the small, supportive community where every child is inspired to do their best, by well qualified, motivated staff.
""Staff are proud to be members of this hardworking and successful school." Ofsted Inspection January 2016.

Amazing school

5 stars

My children go to the school and one is currently in the nursery class. It is such a lovely school; brilliant staff, beautiful location with huge outdoor space and kind and caring children. The atmosphere throughout the school is very happy. You just need to visit it and you get such a warm feeling. My children love going to school everyday. They are inspired, interested, happy and challenged. I would highly recommend this as a school and nursery.

A wonderful school!

5 stars

My children have grown immensely in their first year at Hailey, in terms of their learning and also their confidence. The warmth and friendliness I experience from staff, children and parents took me by surprise. I love the way the different age groups engage with each other. The buddy system for reception children with the Year 6 children really helps them get settled in and gives the older children a sense of responsibility which they take seriously. You get the feeling everyone wants the best for the children - education and well-being. Highly recommended!

Truly wonderful primary school

5 stars

I cannot recommend this school highly enough. My child started in September in Reception and has been exceptionally happy and made a lot of friends. The teaching staff offer plenty of support. Each time I visit the school, I am so impressed with how polite and friendly the children are. The grounds are fantastic and my child spends a lot of time outside. Forest school is a particular favourite. The extended schools provision (both early birds and after school) is a big plus.
