To promote and enrich the development of children to achieve their full potential in a caring, happy, creative and stimulating environment.
Holmesdale Infant School was opened in January 1959. It is situated in its own wooded grounds surrounded by gardens and playing areas. The building has been fully updated with disabled access and resourced for children with disabilities.
Judged Outstanding in all areas in July 2013 Ofsted made the following comments:
"Outstanding teaching and high expectations are having a significant impact on the progress that pupils make at this school. Teachers' meticulous planning in all three year groups results in lessons that stimulate pupils' interest and offer them appropriately challenging tasks."
"Pupils demonstrate a real pride in the quality of the work they produce and in being a member of the school community. A typical comment was, "Our school is a great place to come to, to have fun, learn new things and make friends." Their eagerness to attend school is shown by their consistently above-average attendance."
Our Childcare Provision
There are 7 classrooms within the school. 5 are used for teaching and two are used by The Avenue Nursery and Holmesdale Kids Club (breakfast/after school/holiday club) offering wrap around care to the local community.
The Avenue Nursery: The Avenue Nursery is a private nursery providing full day care within the school premises, forging strong relationships with the school and ensuring a smooth, happy transition from nursery to school life.
Holmesdale Kids Club: Holmesdale Kids Club is held at Holmesdale Infant School and provides safe quality care for children between 4 and 12 years of age, out of school hours and during school holidays. Care is offered from 7.45am-6.00pm.
