About Us
Osborne Nursery School is a local authority maintained school providing early education to children aged 2 to 4 years. Our provision is led by teachers and prepares children well for their transition to primary school.
We offer a creative, stimulating balance of child initiated and adult led activities and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. We are committed to outdoor learning, with our large, varied outdoor space being freely accessible to children.
The children are divided into small groups of children where they have the support of a key worker, who is the main link between child, family and nursery. We aim to offer a learning environment that enables and empowers children to become independent learners and thinkers, who are able to communicate clearly and sociably with others.
We have an on-site forest school which enables our children to experience and learn from the natural world, our weather and the seasons. They develop their language, confidence and social skills whilst making new discoveries and solving problems together.
We work closely with parents as you know your children the best. All families are offered an initial induction meeting and regular parent meetings and Play and Learn with your Child Days. We have an open door policy and your partnership is valued.
One of our parents expressed what we do by saying: "They look after the children well, making nursery an enjoyable experience, teach the children the skills they need and give the children confidence to be more independent."
Our Childcare Provision
Most of our children receive free funded places of 15 hours per week, however paid top up hours are also available.
