About Us
Scarborough College is a small, friendly, high achieving independent day and boarding school. We are a co-educational school for children aged 3-18, offering boarding for pupils aged 11 upwards.
Little Owls Pre-School is set within over five acres of beautiful green surroundings and with access to an enormous outdoor play area and unrivalled pre-school facilities. Direct access to the superb facilities of Scarborough College and specialist teaching at no extra cost in music led by Kathy Seabrook, regular swimming, dance and French makes our Early Years educational experience unique.
Pre-School combines all the advantages of a conventional nursery with a wonderful range of learning opportunities to provide boys and girls from the age of three with the best possible start in life.
Our highly experienced and dedicated team of staff work both within and beyond the EYFS framework to ensure all children learn and develop well, are challenged, and are kept healthy and safe.
All our 3 and 4 year old children receive the guaranteed 15 hours of government funding and, unlike many pre-schools, we offer the flexibility of spreading the 15 hours across 3 half days (a half day is equivalent to 5 hours) making our provision a great choice for working parents.
Our Wrap Around Care is available daily from 8.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m. and is included at no extra cost. Government funding is available from the start of the term after your child’s third birthday, although children may join Little Owls earlier at any point during the term in which they turn three. This funding is available until the end of the term in which they turn five and can be used throughout the Reception year for those going on to Bramcote Junior School.

Preparation for School
Following on from their experience within our outstanding Pre-School, Little Owls children are well equipped with the essential foundation skills to move on confidently and independently to their chosen school. Many of our children move up to Reception at Bramcote Junior School to continue their excellent start and others move on to a variety of local primary schools.
Parents and Tots Group
Our Parents and Tots Group takes place every Tuesday 9.30 to 11.30 a.m. in the Bramcote Junior School Hall. Very often Kathy Seabrook delivers her much-loved Music for Babies and Toddlers sessions. All children from babies through to pre-schoolers are very welcome and it’s a great way to meet other parents of little ones in the area.
• Separate Baby Section
• Variety of Fun Toys for Toddlers and Pre-Schoolers
• Indoor and Outdoor Play
• Stimulating and Safe Play Environment
• Refreshments and Music sessions included in the price
Bramcote Junior School provides a solid primary education for our 5-11 year olds. With small class sizes averaging 1:12 in the junior school, dedicated and specialist teachers, and again the shared facilities, resources and staff which comes with being part of Scarborough College, our juniors are stretched, inspired and cared for in a safe, friendly and dynamic environment. With sport everyday and a busy enrichment programme during lunchtimes and after school, we provide more than just a primary education. Like the Pre-School, our 8.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m. all inclusive wrap around care provides busy, working families peace of mind for the childs before and after school needs.
At the senior school our students prepare and study for their GCSEs in academic subjects, which sees 94% students passing Maths, 3 sciences and one modern foreign language. Last year we had a 52% pass rate for GCSEs at A*/A and 14 separate subjects with 100% A*-C pass rate. There is a focus on encouraging students to adopt a global perspective which gives them the competitive edge in their future careers.
All our sixth formers take the International Baccalaureate and achieve very good grades (average point score 33 points over the last 5 years) with students going on to a variety of excellent university destinations both in the UK and across the globe, including Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group universities We also offer a bespoke Pre-IB course for 16 year old international students who wish to experience a traditional British education for just one year and helps them prepare to study the IB Diploma at Scarborough College.
