About Us
• St. Herbert’s is a Voluntary Aided Roman Catholic Primary School with a Nursery offering part-time/full-time provision, and a Learning Centre for breakfast and after- school provision, and a Holiday Club.
• At present, St Herbert’s is slightly larger than the average-size primary school with 323 pupils on roll.
• The school has a Planned Admission Number of 40 pupils. Pupils are put into classes according to age or need.
• The school population is stable.
• During the last five years, applications for places in Reception have significantly exceeded the PAN ie: 2015: 122 applications, 2014: 108 applications, 2013: 104 applications.
• Attendance is better than schools nationally (2014/2015 96.5%).
Our Childcare Provision
The school's Learning Centre provides breakfast and after-school provision for pupils at St Herbert's RC Primary School, Nursery to Year 6, and must be booked in advance (daily rates can be found on the school website). (We have a waiting list for places in this provision)
The Learning Centre is physically attached to the school, but managed and run as a separate entity, being a contained unit with its own entrance.
The Learning Centre also runs a Holiday Club, for specific weeks in the holiday calendar. This provision is initially offered to St Herbert's pupils, and any places available are then offered to children in the community (age restrictions: Nursery to Year 6).
